Belts are useless in general

I would say that a belt is pretty much a platform to prove yourself to be the best in the world but not every champion goes about using it that way.

Michael Bisping was a prime example, helluva fighter, helluva career, he beat the best middleweight to get the belt but what he did when he got that platform was choose to fight number 14 ranked 45 year old Dan Henderson and Georges St-Pierre who was coming off of a 4 year layoff.

The belt is as meaningful as the holder decides to make it.

No He didnt. Dos Anjos had more sig strikes, but that is a debatable term.. but overall strikes colby landed more, just checked.

Colby did not struggle in that fight
