The problem with the Eagles is over-exposure even today on classic rock radio. I stopped listening to the radio over a decade ago. Hotel California is a lot better when you haven't heard it in 5 years. American Pie is another song that if you take a 5 year hiatus, it becomes great again, except when Madonna sings it.

Boys of Summer is a suitable title for a gay porn. But nothing else.
 
They harmonized wel, and were decent musicians. The songs themselves were generally good. They may be a bit overrated, but I don't how you would justify claiming they flat-out were not good at all.
 
It certainly seems like musicians back in the day could become full-time musicians more easily because they made more money selling albums.
 
The Eagles of Death Metal should have called their band "The Fucking Eagles"

I miss Hip Hop and rap of the early nineties, Country
seems like the only one that's still popular.

I don't why blues wasn't more popular.

There is a lot of good metal/heavy rock or whatever you want to call it. Just not on the radio. Look around YouTube for awhile and you'll find good music. The radio, at least where I live, is stuck so hard in the early 2000's it's sad. Rock on the radio is dead.
