They faced brutal attacks from natives, and then the English military came and took it over.

Everyone wasn't holding hands and helping to define what America is, whatever that means.

Primarily because of the people immigrating to these European states.

But also, America was built on Native land and they are small in numbers and completely irrelevant economically and socially. So any group besides them has no credibility claiming that America belongs to them. This pretty much applies to all of the Americas. All of these countries have long histories of immigration and mixed races.

There are also issues of welfare which never should be coupled with easy immigration and a bunch of other issues.
