    is Dana White.

It's maybe too obvious for anyone who truly desires the top of the food chain to pit it out, but I think it's noteworthy.

Regardless of how 'boring' Askren is, he is undefeated and hasn't shown the tiniest inkling of how he would lose a fight. He's gone against dangerous strikers and subdued them nonchalantly... In contrast to the murderer we know in Khabib... nonetheless managed to make all of his opponents look like amateurs once he got on top.

IMHO, Ben might be one of the saddest things to let go without seeing him against the likes of Brown, Condit, and maybe even GSP.

And of of course we know about Fedor's issue, or should I say managerial issues they've had in the past. Dana can't take full blame for this one because Fedor's got a shady management team behind him and perhaps looking into their interests more so than the interests of Fedor. But whatever the case might be, it's a fuckin shame.

    We missed out on...

    Aldo vs Pettis
    Jones vs Silva
    GSP vs Silva
and Fedor vs ?????????? and Askren vs ???????????

Free fact: Have never seen an Askren fight and not sure have ever seen a highlight gif. Maybe bc he doesn't have 1?

But you're right: money decision. Would cost too much without enough draw back. Fedor is shot, he struggles in LHW division today

Not the biggest Dana fan here, but Fedor and his team made it almost impossible to strike a deal with the UFC and Askren was straight up being publicly insulting to Dana. I don't know how he thought he was going to get a job like that, but I've never seen that work.

Sometimes when deals fall through, there isn't a villain.

Sometimes the needs/wants of the two parties are simply not compatible, especially when the needs/wants are complex.

Reducing the Fedor/UFC negotiations to "urrr durrr Fedor was SCARED" or "hurr durr...Dana was GREEDY" isn't really doing justice to the situation.

    :shrugs:

They chose not working for a jerk over making big scratch and the big publicity that comes fighting in the biggest MMA promotion in the world

I mean, if that's what's important to them, great.

There are sooooooo many other fighters that were able to work with Dana White without issue, so if they couldn't make it work, seems like that's on Askren and Fedor more than anything else.

Fedor was the greatest fighter of all time. Askren is a can. Don't talk as if their careers or situations are compatible.

Fedor is 2-4 inside the cage in the beta leagues. We didn't miss out on anything. The UFC actively pursued him, but he had other things in mind. They didn't work out well for him. LOL

Or don't watch stuff that would bore TF out of you?

Because he's on some unheard of org that plays on channels the search doesn't even find

    Askren is a can...

Could you explain how he's a can?

(I bet this guy responds ad hominem because he can't justify what he said)

Dear OP. Don't ever put askren in the same sentence as fedor when it comes to this. Askren is a never was who maybe made decent money as a never was. Fedor is a legend.

And I will say, at least Ben Askren fought MMA athletes and not Japanese professional wrestling actors and Steven Seagal-type characters. LOL
