The Ponies Thread (part 2)

Congrats, man! Glad to see the Race Gods finally gave you a break with those damned photos, haha. Maybe this is a sign of things to come with future photos :).

Still laid up pretty painful, they did a ton of work. I was actually just over at the Dr.'s office getting my splint replacedthis morning so I got to see the full damage done for the first time. Was not pretty, lol!

Dont know how weak your guys' stomachs are but let's just say
I'm at least 50-60 staples deep plus stitches, plus two screws plus they removed one pin today but still have three more to go.
It was pretty gross stuff, but happy the surgery's over and the Doc seems to be happy with the outcome so that makes me feel better.

Haha at your use of spoiler tags. Of course we're going to click it. But nah, my stomach is good. I just don't want to see my friend suffering through something nasty like that, that's all. I'm glad your doc gave to you a positive outlook at least. Hopefully the worst of it is behind you too and it's all a healing process from here on out. They must have you on the good stuff, no?

Ah I appreciate the kind words, buddy.

On the good stuff, but w/ the opioid shit going on they're basically telling me they would put me on a stronger dose considering the amount of work done but they're hesitant considering thenaddiction epidemic so yeah on some oxy but it's still pretty painful at times.

Race 8 at Laurel (in a couple mins) - #5 Missimard to W/P and then a #5, #10 exacta box.

Race 9 at Aqueduct - #6 No Distortion to win and then a #3, #6 exacta box.

Note to self: Stop being an idiot and quit betting these off tracks.

@t6p ,@BluntTrauma21

Went 2 best of 4 for today, and also only included my expected odds at the end, not fair odds.

==========

My site has both the #7 and #8 horses scratching out of race 3. They also have the #6 listed as a scratch in race 8, which is good news for me since I'd rather not play that horse at what could be very short odds nor did I want to play against it considering how strong it looked going in.

These scratches do screw up my expected odds totals I gave out for the horses in those races, though, since all three figured to take their fair share of money.

Race 9 at Calder (GPW) - Win bets on both the #6 and #9.

Gonna play exactas, tris, supers, and even the hi-5 this race as well, and structured like so.

6,9 / 3,6,9 / 3,6,9,12 / 3,5,6,9,12,13 / 3,5,6,9,12,13

That's almost $90 risked (half of that is the hi-5)

Oh shit, I don't have the favourite included anywhere. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I'll count it as a good thing for now, but we'll see after the race.

Come on #9, #6, #12, #13, and in that order. Thank you.

#9 wins at 12/1. The #6 may have got 2nd at 8/1 d3epending on this photo. Could be the exacta I missed out on earlier, and even better

12/1 winner and 96/1 exacta gives me a $250 profit that race even with playing heavily for the hi-5.

You screw me out of a 62/1 exacta by an inch or two. Hey no problem. I'll just come back a couple of hours later and hit a 96/1 exacta by that same inch or two margin.

Piece of cake. :p

Gonna try a few races at Delta Downs later on today;

Race 5 - #3 over #2, #4, #9 exactas ($2), and #3 over #2, #4, #8, #9 tris ($1)

Daily Double races 5 & 6 - #3 with #1, #2 ($2)

Pick 3 races 5 through 7 - #3 with #1, #2 with #7 ($2)

Race 6 - #1, #2 exacta box ($2)

Daily Double races 6 & 7 - #1, #2 with #7 ($2)

Pick 3 races 6 through 8 - #1, #2 with #7 with #2 ($2)

Race 7 - #7 over #1, #5 exactas ($2)

Daily Double races 7 & 8 - #7 with #2 ($4)

That should only be $46 in total risked with those plays.

*Edit: Minimum supers for Delta Downs on my site are $1 each, so the plan to play a super in race 5 is a pass for me.

To do nothing more than satisfy my OCD-ish ways and to make it a nice round $50 that will be risked this evening, I'm also going to play a #2, #4 exacta box for $2 in race 3 at Remington as well since I did the race already. Seems like the play to make that race with two strong contenders scratching out and then one other short priced horse (probable favourite now) entered that I don't like much. I liked the #2 horse quite a bit even before the two horses scratched, so win betting that one if at decent enough odds is also an option, although probably be an unlikely one since I doubt I get the odds.

Haha, that’s what I’m talkin about Shark!

Congrats sir, awesome work.

Holy shit at Mahoning Valley a couple of days ago on Wed. I just went to see the results at the track only to see if the track was playing towards the outside as it often does, and wow, some of the payouts were unbelievable.

Race 3 was won from an outside horse breaking from the 7 hole and paid 62/1 for the lucky few who had it.

Race 5 was won from an outside horse breaking from the 6 hole and paid 75/1.

Race 7 was won from an outside horse breaking from the 10 hole and paid 43/1.

That's insane. One horse winning at big odds like that isn't all that common on a race card. Two winners paying out at those prices the same day and track is extremely rare. But three? I've never ever heard of that before. Ever as in ever. It's obviously happened before. I just can't recall a single time. There were also a couple of 6/1 winners and an 11/1 winner on that day too, but as nice as those payouts are any other day, those were crap in comparison to what those three bombers paid out. Crazy.

Cheers T.

I got paid well that race, which is nice. But I can't help but to think I fucked myself by going for the hi-5 though. That was my plan. Play the hi-5 and then whatever else came after. But the hi-5 was my focus. Once I did the numbers and found that the top 2 horses with our system were going to be longshots and the eventual 8/5 favourite was only ranked 6th with this, I should have scaled back my focus. Who knows. If I did that I might have played that #5 horse in 3rd instead of just using him 4th and 5th like I did. Not sure. But he did finish 3rd at 20/1 and with the other too longer shots finishing top 2, that trifecta came back at 1700/1.

I went 2, 2, 3 in the contest for reasons unknown to me.
