The People's Champ, The Rock, pays homage to Conor McGregor

There's been the Issue of money / contract negotiations as well. If you paid attention to the post fight press conference and all the comments made about money, percentages, owning a stake In the company and things of that nature..Seems quite clear that this particular Issue is something that's been brewing for a long time.

Which makes sense when you consider how much Conor is being paid relative to the revenue that he brings In. Now, we are all very aware at this point that the UFC lowballs It's fighters as much as humanly possible..This is a very common conflict that has happened for quite some time and only continuing to increase. Most people will often support fighters In this dilemma, stating that the UFC should pay It's fighters. When It comes to Conor though, there Is an obvious double standard.

The reality though Is that this particular dilemma Is the biggest of It's kind in MMA. Conor Is asking for percentages relative to what other high level athletes / boxers have been making for a long time. Which isn't something that's been ever given to an MMA fighter before..so naturally you can expect such a thing to be a very long and drawn out conflict.

Again, there are politics / business and things of that nature behind the scenes that most don't take Into account. But It's quite clear that this Issue has been brewing for quite a while, he even outright stated It on his new years day tweet.

When It's the average fighter, they get full support. But because It's Conor, he's ducking. Sorry, but those sort of double standards just don't work. This sort of conflict Is a reality and the UFC Is just as much If not more to blame for things not happening at the idealistic speed that the fans would like.

tldr - Most people miss the bigger picture when It comes to the business / politics taking place behind the scenes

man to bad he signed that contract making him ready the highest paid fighter on the roster making between 15-30 an mma fight.

there nothing for conor and ufc to talk about. conor will never make 100 in mma cause there no way an mma fight prings that much. boxing always makes more than mma cause they ppv cost is a lot higher as well as ticket prices are.

I don't think anyones talking about making 100 mil in MMA.

It's really about revenue percentages.

For example, In boxing..fighters get a far bigger chunk of the pie. Where as in MMA / the UFC..fighters get such a low percentage to the point where It's almost criminal. This is something that's been talked about amongst boxing promoters for quite some time and will probably be talked about a lot In the future as we move away from this greedy / profit driven pay structure.

Conor being a 2 belt champion at the time and now with the Floyd fight having taken place effectively making Conor one of the most popular athletes on the planet, It's only natural that anyone In that position of power / leverage would want percentages comparable with what other fighters / high level athletes have been making for quite some time.

That's the Issue here. The thing Is, the UFC needs Conor. He has the power / leverage at this point. It's just something that you expect would be a lengthy negotiation. Eventually they will cave and give Into his desires, if they haven't already.

it's sort of similar to when Floyd Mayweather left HBO and hooked up with showtime, formed his own promotional company. He wanted to be his own boss, he knew he was getting fucked considering the revenue he was bringing in and wanted a bigger chunk of the pie. Which he got with showtime, making a huge chunk of the revenue he brought In relative to his previous contract.

Sort of a similar situation here

I feel they've probably already reached an agreement behind the scenes though. Dana has already been talking about wanting Conor back by september and things like that. They booked artem on the same card as Khabib, It's quite clear they were planning to create a confrontation of sorts In order to promote the upcoming fight between Conor and Khabib. Which they did, effectively making a potential Khabib Conor bout the biggest that will ever take place in MMA history numbers wise.

UFC doesn't do things like this by accident, so that sort of tells me they've probably reached some sort of agreement or are close to It.

We'll see what happens, but don't be surprised if you hear an announcement some time soon. I think you probably live In a fantasy world If you think these guys are scared of one another. This is a tough fight for both guys when you actually analyse It technically from every angle. At the end of the day, It all comes down to money.

so if ufc staged it all than why would they have conor do something to rik his work visa.

conor actions show no diesire to fight no matter what his words are saying.

You are wrong. Conor has clearly proven he is one the very best fighters on the planet (that is not even debatable considering what he did to Aldo and Alvarez, champions of two of the most stacked weightclasses), while Rock is not even close to be one of the best actors. Conor just happens to be an amazing business man on top of that.

He does really well against smaller fighters. I want to see him fight an elite fighter that he does not have a size advantage over. Great fighter is a strong word. He has never defended and he has not fought for almost 2 years. I think he is a good fighter that relies heavily on his size advantage. You notice that he wants nothing to do with ether Khabib or Tony? He knows his hype ends if he fights them.

He is a reality tv star more than anything.

He probably doesn't know that Conor is a thug who attacks innocent people for fun. He works all the time so it's understandable he wouldn't know.

People of money, power, status and connections do not abide by the same rules as common folk. Expect a slap on the wrist. There Is absolutely zero chance of Conor being never allowed to enter the US again over this. Way too much money to be made.

I don't think you're listening to anything I'm saying so I think were done here.

but yes, the Khabib fight will happen. Anyone who thinks the whole artem confrontation / bus incident, two fighters who are essentially each others biggest rivals In the division happened by accident / coincidence lives In a fantasy world. It was all staged from the beginning. From the moment they booked artem on the same card. That's as telling of a sign as any that something big Is on the horizon. But I suppose you will see what you will see.

- Holloway couldn't even make 155 as it was the largest cut Lockhart has ever seen, and has talked about moving all the way up to 170
- Eddie has fought at 170 multiple times and recently said he was 190
- Dustin has fought the majority of his career at 155, and has said he's 185
- Brandao has missed weight before
- Aldo has talked for years about moving up and repeatedly struggles to make weight
- Diaz has fought at 170 many times, has missed weight before, and doesn't want to fight at 155 again as it's too hard of a cut
- Siver has fought at 170 before

i guess we not not agreeing to disagree at all

if the ufc is told a fighter cant get a work visa again there nothing to do about it. conor im sure in the end ays a huge fine and gets a lot of hours as a plea deal.

book it if in 2019 conor doesn't fight again than he never will again.

i can see conor trying to fight Woodley before a khabib fight.

He risked possible murder charges with his actions, if it was staged the glass would have been bulletproof so it bounced off.

If it were staged that badly with normal glass and the worst case scenario happened so someone died (or even was severely injured). Then Conor would immediately tell he was just working for the UFC and Dana and everyone else would also face man slaughter charges since the fighters on the bus were not told.

To say the UFC is that desperate for publicity is absurd

everyone respects his accomplishments as a fighter; and I'm sure the Rock doesn't know about how he attacked innocent people. I doubt the documentary had that part.

bingo someone sees how dumb it is saying ufc staged it.
people just need to face it conor never coming back

no sane person would have predicted he would have done what he did; so I'm not going to try to predict the future actions of a mad man. But his attack on the bus was clearly not staged.

If he's the hardest worker in the room how come his cardio is still shit?

Yet people on here slag Conor off, calling him a fake fighter and that he isn't even that good.

How can people be so hateful and bitter towards someone you've never even met?

Instead they should try and take inspiration from everyone they can
.

If we all quit our jobs and took state benefits to fund ourselves while we up skilled ourselves in a specialist area, the world would collapse. There is nothing inspirational about his story.

Thought he was ducking movie contracts now.

Just planting the seed for their 2021 rivalry in the WWE imo.

Why did you make a documentary about yourself?

"It had to be done."
