Some people will never be great at something no matter how much training and their environment.

They need to have a certain psyche aswell as physical gifts.

The ratio of hardwork, mentality and physical attributes varies from person to person.

But you definitely cant reach an elite status in athletics with ONLY hardwork.

Also, you should probably refresh your memory on what "potential" means. It doesn't mean what you think it does

Gohan was much weaker than him at first. Goku had to spend time getting Gohan to baseline Super Saiyan and then teach him to control it and then go beyond.

Even Gohan during the cell games asks how Goku got so strong when he spent most of his time training Gohan.

He taught gohan to get to ss and came up with the idea of them staying that way til it was normal
However we know gohan was showing signs of ss2 even before theyd left the chamber so gokubwas sparring with someome who was far beyond him but was mentaly holding back

Most tellingly goku asks if gohan can keep up with him and cell and he says yeah only because your holding back
Goku corrects gohan that hes not holding back vs cell at all.....its that gohan is comparing his own power level to theirs and finding it wanting and assumes they must be holding back!
 
What the heck is the argument about that’s going on lol.

Ever wonder, if goku hadn’t lost his tail and reached 4 etc, how that would correlate powerwise to now?

Is Blue stronger than 4 etc
