The individual mandate is a kind of slavery

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."

— The American Constitution

Since it’s a of that amendment, we’re getting our freedom back. And that’s what America is supposed to be: a nation of free individual people.

Countries like Europe don’t have this concept but this is why we don’t have universal healthcare. To do so is take away the right of me to be an individual. It’s why America has the most rights and the best economy.

You're freeloader. What's new? The Right Wing loves gov. gravy except when it goes to minorities.

Would you care to explain how the ACA is like slavery? On second thought, don't bother. One more wild right wing distortion or lie isn't going bring back my regularity.

It forces you to buy a product that you don't want. We should have the right to choose our own health insurance. Or lack of it. Or whatever kind we want. To cover pre-existing conditions. Or to not cover them. Etc. We should be free people.

The best healthcare system is if you work and have the money for insurance go that route. If no insurance you pay out of pocket. If you cant afford to pay...well sucks for you and you deal with it or die. I hate the way people think everyone should have free this or that bullshit...pay your goddamned way or die that's how it should be.

Except the way you are describing actually costs more (16% of GDP) and the single-payer option costs less (8-10% of GDP).

Why do you want to waste money and be inefficient just because hurting poor people gives you good feels?

You realize the working health care systems are not free right. You just simply have a system set up that profits the pharma and other industries.
Instead of the people. The other systems simply allow for everyone to get basic healthcare. And if you want better healthcare you can pay more.

They just simply charge you more money for the same service. And have told you everything else is "free shit" or socialism.
What is the point of being a country if you can't even have adequate healthcare for your population?

Because that doesn't help my wallet at all...my insurance went to ungodly rates with all the healthcare shit. Paying for everyone else's free healthcare is for the fucking birds.

I really couldn't give a damn about the "population".

Fair enough. But wouldn't you like to pay less for your health insurance and or medical care (if you pay out of pocket)?
I used to pay less before Obamacare rolled out. Rates went up over double what they were. Luckily I've changed jobs and got a better plan now.

Yeah, my point wasn't that you need government healthcare or Obama care. If you can get a private working system that would be good also, might be even better.
But at the moment it seems that the European/Japanese are working for more people and are also cheaper. While the US system only works better for high-end care.

Law Makers and the Pharma industry just preventing you from getting that. And have successfully gotten people like you to say its just "free shit" or socialism.
When in fact you should demand from them to get you and your family a practical healthcare plan for around 10% of your salary or so. Because that's what every other western country can do.
Its only one that cant do it.
