Well brazil has no male UFC titles and the general basic talk around U.S mma community is USADA got Brazil and thats where the decline came from. I do not agree with this at all as we've seen probably 70-80% changes in all UFC contracted athletes since USADA. The ones that have been caught and even the ones who haven't been caught there are clear body and performance changes across the board not just Brazil. The UFC is a United States of america company, US fighters will always have a advantage and there will always be more Aamericans on the roster then any other country, simple numbers. For some reason this clear and obvious point is rarely brought up (atleast the mma media im watching) and they come up with other reasons for Brazil not having as many stars as they've had in the past... Anyway there is one man that could be the next Brazilian super star and if you havn't seen some of his work take a look at the HL video.
Thoughts on the subject guys?

Costa might be Brazil's last hope.

Most of their stars are gone, or about to be gone.

Brazil just can't cut it, hell most Brazilians realized that like 10 years ago and moved to America.

Once Erick Silva goes through puberty, they'll be back.

It's not just Costa they have left, there's also Moraes.

...who has as little connection to the country he left almost decade ago as possible.

Even on UFC 212 he had a status of a "gringo" opponent against Assuncao

What do you mean little connection, thats his primary language, thats where all his childhood and adolescent years went, those are the years that mold who you are. You don't just leave your country, its in you once you've been raised to a man at that country. Brazil is still a third world country and MMA is not as big as americans seem to think over here. They go to the US cause if your gonna raise a family and make a living in MMA its clearly a safer more logical choice. Marlon Moraes, Raphael Assucao, RDA, Edson Barboza are all living in the states now but you ask any of those guy what country they represent and I guarantee you there answer will be Brazil.

The future is Erick Silva who just won a fight a few days ago

that's it

Forget Brazil in UFC. It's time to start thinking about UFC being around period. They have almost no marketable fights and interest in dropping. Plus, that absurd price that was paid when the bought it at 4billion.

Still got Wanderlai Silva kicking ass. Shogun just won his last fight by headkick. Vitor Belfort just became heavyweight champion. Bwazil is doing fine.

Is Normal... just need more young talent. Plus. Isn't Dana doing a show with all Brazilians...

Real Brazilian athletes are focused on real sports like football.

MMA has changed too.

Originally, most Brazilians had a strong ground game, especially with BJJ.
As the rules changed to add rounds and to change the way fights are scored, it has become increasingly more difficult to win via BJJ.

As a result of these rule changes, fighters have had to adopt their training style to the more generic type top control wrestler/boxer fighter.

Even old camps like Chute Box can apply to this. Cristiano Marcello was the only real BJJ player that I remember out of that camp, Pele, Wanderlei, etc. were beast like mauy thai style fighters that relied on ultra aggression and violence to win fights. Of course, that style of fighting meant that they would be put on their backs at times. It didn't matter because they had great defensive guards and would simply wait to either get stood up or to sweep/escape to their feet. The point is, it didn't matter if they were on their back because it didn't mean that they were losing the round.

Fighters today simply don't fight like this anymore because having top control is so important in today's MMA.

Of course USADA as well

I heard Costa trains a lot and that is why he looks like this.

Sounds legit...
