Floyd wants the fight to happen as soon as possible because he doesn't want Conor to get with a legit trainer and become a better boxer. He's scared.

Conor by knockout.

The fight is happening because of the money. That's all Floyd cares about. Money. And more power to him and Conor for getting that money. Fighters put their health on the line for our entertainment. They should always be gunning for as much money as possible.

I have to agree with this. It seems floyd rushed this one because he knows the longer Conor trains the better. If the fight happened early next year, Conor would have had a year straight to train his pure Boxing. Why risk it when you can make him fight in 2 months

No amount of boxing training is going to close the gap for Conor. Floyd has lifetime of boxing experience. They are striking while the iron is hot. If they wait and Conor loses to someone else in the meantime this fight likely never happens and they both lose out on millions. This is a money fight.

By next year Floyd would have been almost 41 years of age and fighting a guy who has fought like 5 times while Floyd was retired, who is 28 longer reach, bigger, southpaw. And the more time he trains the better he gets regardless. Even if he can't possibly get to Floyd's boxing level in that amount of time, why wait for Conor to get better anyway? Too risky clearly that's why the fight is happening in 2 months

If they waited a year the odds would've been the same imo. The real risk is Conor losing before they make the fight. That's why this is happening now.

We're not talking odds here though. Common sense tells you, the more time Conor spends ignoring the other aspects of MMA and training soul boxing, the better he will get. Will he get to Floyd's level in a year, of course not. But Floyd gets older and older as time goes on and Conor gets better. He's also younger and in Better shape than Floyd being an active fighter. Why would Floyd Even take a 1 percent more risk with conor?

Conor can't just wait and train solely on boxing for years on end. He would be stripped of his second belt and his star power would begin to fade and the fight doesn't sell. Again it's back to the money. This is happening now because the stars have aligned and it's going to break records.

I think it's because Floyd is old and wants to get back in the ring and collect one last paycheck and victory as soon as possible before his skills begin eroding.

That, and if Conor loses again before they fight, it takes a lot of sting out of the match-up. Now just seems like the perfect time for everyone involved.

Nah...he just wants that easy money ASAP.
