Why does the title still say Flashpoint? Flashpoint was confirmed scrapped in favor of a Flash stand-alone movie when John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein came on board which was months ago.

Ask @Dragonlordxxxxx also though I have a feeling they are going back to flashpoint to make changes to the DCEU. And that is why they still don't have a script.

Yeah that was my first thought upon reading the title. They are Definately going to to back to Flashpoint so they can recast bats and supes

It is unreal though that the announced the movie like 3 years ago but don't have a script.
Also likely part of the delay though is shooting mid 2019 could interfere with another WB francise. Ezra is part of (fantastic beasts)

Nothing about this movie is confirmed buddy

As much as anything can be confirmed at this point, it was said they were moving away from Flashpoint. Pretty sure the trades talked about it. Scoopers were saying it. After Walter Hamada came in lots of things changed.

THE FLASH Standalone Movie Pushes Filming Start Date for a Possible 2021 Release

cqfqMJ3.jpg

Comic book fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see the Flash race into theaters, and Albus Dumbledore may be partly to blame for the delay.

Warner Bros. is pushing back the start of filming on the studio’s still untitled standalone Flash film, sources tell Variety. The film never received a formal greenlight nor did it have a set release date, but it had been expected to begin shooting in March. However, a script is still being tweaked and the studio thinks that it won’t have enough time to get the script in shape in order for the film to make its original start date.

That’s a problem, because Ezra Miller, the live-wire performer tasked with playing the Flash, also has a key supporting role in “Fantastic Beasts,” the “Harry Potter” spin-off series. The third film in the franchise begins shooting in July, which would cause scheduling headaches. The standalone Flash film is now expected to commence production in late 2019. That likely means the superhero adventure won’t debut in theaters until some time in 2021.

The Flash movie has had a long gestation. Last January, Warner Bros. signed “Spider-Man: Homecoming” scribes John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to direct the film. They replaced “Dope” director Rick Famuyiwa, who left the film in 2016 over creative differences. His exit put the picture in limbo until a new filmmaker could be found.

Following the box office disappointment of “Justice League,” Warner Bros. has been reevaluating its approach to making movies based on DC Comics characters. The studio is not currently moving forward with Batman and Superman movies featuring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, respectively. It is expected to recast the Dark Knight with a different actor for director Matt Reeves’ upcoming Batman solo outing. The studio will be fielding a number of superhero adventures in the coming months and years. It is releasing “Aquaman” this December, and next year will bring a “Wonder Woman” sequel. The studio also has a “Suicide Squad” follow-up and a Joker movie with Joaquin Phoenix waiting on deck.

DC movies are a mess. Their lucky they found gold with Gal.

Not too excited. I think its b/c the actor who plays the flash, if its the same dude from JL annoys me.

This movie will probably suck. They should have casted a better Flash.

Ezra Miller Now Writing THE FLASH Script with Grant Morrison to Stay on Board as Star

Z7T6wRF.jpg

In a bid to keep himself involved as the Scarlet Speedster, actor Ezra Miller is taking a hands-on approach to The Flash. Miller is taking a stab at writing the script for the Warner Bros. project, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. He has teamed up with Grant Morrison, the acclaimed comics author, to pen a draft that could determine if he stays on as star, playing crimefighter Barry Allen.

The development has bubbled up from a clash of creative visions. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who have been on board the project since January 2018, have a light-hearted approach to the material (and even hail from that sort of background, with credits like Spider-Man: Homecoming and Game Night). And, as sources note, that is the general track favored by Warners, which scored a billion-dollar hit with Aquaman by going the fun spectacle route and is seeing strong buzz on Shazam!, which is wearing its “superheroics is fun” on its sleeve .

Miller is said to want a darker take on the material.

The two sides have been working on compromises since last year but Miller took the initiative to tackle the story himself. He partnered with Morrison, with Warners hiring the two to script their take. It is a rare move for an actor to be so invested in a superhero project that they switch hats, but Miller sees himself as deeply committed to the character.

Despite its namesake, Flash has been anything but in its journey to the silver screen, going through several directors and writers. Miller, however, has been a constant, having been first cast by filmmaker Zack Snyder for the role in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and embracing the role fully in Justice League.

The script could be submitted to the studio as early as next week.

But there could be a lot riding on it. If Warners chooses against Miller's take on the hero, the actor could part ways with the project. Additionally, and fittingly for a hero who races to beat the clock, there is a countdown scenario here as well: according to one insider, Miller’s holding deal on Flash expires May.

Despite the clashes on Flash, Miller remains a presence on the Warners lot. He has played a key character in the studio’s Fantastic Beasts movies and is expected to shoot the third installment at the end of this year.

everybody wants this stuff to be darker... leave that shit for Batman movies. The Flash should be lighter, imo. Along the lines of the Donner Superman movies, but less campy.

Ezra's a fucking wanker, not sure I'd trust him with a script, but who knows. He had good chemistry with Affleck in Justice League, once of the few bright spots in that movie.

I really liked Ezra in the JL movie. Hope he gets a decent outing for himself.

The streak and CGI and costume were shit compared to the TV show but I actually prefer Ezra Miller as the Flash.

Bruce Wayne buys a bank to help out Superman's mom.

Bruce Wayne doesn't get Barry's dad a defense attorney.

That should tell you what they think of The Flash.

Good. I've always wanted to see The Flash take on the heteropatriarchy.
