You're saying the division is "better than it usually is" and then listed fighters that have all been in the division for over half a decade except Ngannou whom is completely unproven and somehow ranked #4.
Who was in the division before that made it better ‘back then’ compared to today? It’s a lot of the same fighters today, but they’re better than ever (except JDS, he’s the exact same fighter which is his problem), plus a bunch of new guys in the top 10 and 15, but barely anybody pays attention to anyone outside of the top 5. I agree that Ngannou shouldn’t be #4 since he hasn’t beaten anybody worth giving a fuck about besides an old, half dead Arlovski.
The division is better today than it was when Brock was champ, Mir, broken Nog, old Couture, not as good Werdum, etc. The division has never been that great anyway and sadly probably never will be because it’s not easy to find true top level HW’s. Most people prefer to go to different sports than MMA and for good reason. It’s especially bad in MMA today since it’s the trash talking era and most can’t do it. Also Reebok, no other sponsors, so less money than before.
It is not a good time to become a UFC fighter because of this crap. This is exactly why people are going to Bellator.
