When I brought up Quebec and it’s 1 year off after having a child (can be shared father or mother), to my new Florida friends, I heard.

“But that’s not fair to the employer” and something about socialism. I said sure, it’s not like society needs kids or anything, who would want to support that?

I then said no that’s not socialism and defined socialism as the working class taking control of the means of production.

There was a lot of silent blinking in the room.....

Then those same types will tell you bout white genocide while supporting every policy that makes it harder to start a family

Then they cant do the math and make the connection

So why are fertility rates so awful in Europe?

It’s almost as if your entire country isn’t organized on the principle that people should hate themselves and each other as much as possible in order to adequately support and serve their billionaire overlords.

Fucking queers!

Im not from there I dont know. But I new as soon as I typed that this response was going to come at me. i think we got different cultures and europe has a much different view of things like sex and marriage than we do maybe

Where I come from people want to start families or have kids /another one and the biggest complaints I hear are money and stability related is what I was really getting at

Huh? Are you aware of some policy that gives minorities paid time off for that comment to make any sense? Why are you supporting policies that ensure only giant corporations have enough money to pay basically double salary every time some dude has a kid? @Gandhi suggested a year off for fathers. Shit, my sister had a kid/year for 4 years after she got married, so that means my brother-in-law's employer would have had to pay salary to someone who didn't even work for almost half a decade. What percentage of employers do you think just have an extra 60k/year to throw away? That's almost 250k for nothing. Only large corporations could afford that.

I keep trying to get through to these people that they could keep on doing that and nothing has to change at all to pass a national healthcare plan but they dont believe me and say socialism

maybe you should just go read some of those talks i have with ripwarrior back in the day and save me some time

Im not saying anything about your fam or people having years off either if youd like me to serve you that rude make it make sense nonsense back to you

I am saying that paternity leave for parents and a fixed healthcare system might make people breed more in america if youd like to talk bout that

I was living in the states at the time when my son was born. I was given no opportunity for paid leave. My wife and I are Polish nationals, so during her pregnancy I saved as much as I could and when my son was born we moved to Poland. I was able to spend 3 months with my son before I needed to work. But only because I saved. Here in Mexico depending on your job, you can get two weeks paid.

Sounds like bad math then if it correlates only when you want it to.

Even in North America, the USA has a higher fertility rate than Canada despite being worse off on this chart.

A Ferrarri is 600k. If anyone who works at your company can afford that, than you should be given 4 years paid time off lol.

the more developed a country is....the more of a burden kids are. on time. on money. youll still love them, but kids arent NEEDED like they are in less developed countries. theyre the opposite.

Was it like this?

<Huh2>

Seriously though, America has some pretty serious problems related to our culture. Our worship of money, and capitalism in general being the main drivers of all our unnecessary hardships.

Sidebar: I spent the first 4 years of my daughter's life as a stay at home father.

I did not suggest anything, I described an existing policy. And it does not work in the way you are describing it so I suggest a little reading before you go on.
