The absurdity of UFC's pound for pound rankings

If UFC is soccer club then how would this two be the best when they not playing at all

Hypothetical. He beat the at the time champ.

The second belt wasn't legitimately earned by fighting top contenders, so it doesn't hold merit. And not to mentioned the fact that Conor has not defended any one of his belts.

better, but still includes Conor and GSP who have fought only once since 2016.

Conor isn't top 10 on the P4P on the FightMetric's stats, so it seems about right.

GSP, on the other hand, went up in weight and fought a natural MW and finished him, so it certainly not a stretch to see him in the top 3 / top 5 P4P.

He's king of the nobody division. Only future hall of famer he has fought is Cruz and he lost.

Cruz is way bigger than him. Name someone way bigger than Conor who he has beaten. Heck, name someone slightly bigger than Conor who he has beaten. Because DJ fights and dominates fighters larger than him on a regular basis.

DJ walks around at 135. Him fighting at bantamweight was the equivalent of Conor going up to 170 and competing most of his career there. How well do you think Conor would do there?

DJ did that (when he wasn't nearly as good as he is now I might add) and was the first guy to figure out Cruz's striking. That was with a 5 inch height disadvantage. He got outwestled and lost the fight. But there is clearly no one in mma his size who is anywhere near the level he's at now.
