That Gsp Hendricks fight....

And look at Hendricks career after being in a war with the goat.
Definitely wasn't a 'war'. It was more akin to a massacre.

And IMO, GSP is def UFC GOAT, second all time next to Fedor, but he got the fuck kicked out of him. It's an impossible sport to always look good in, fair play to him for being so dominant for so long.

Fighting is about damage and the Canadian was badly hurt. Any sensible fan scored that fight for Hendricks. Even the UFC's CEO Dana White threw Georges under the bus for not giving him a rematch

This is the problem with MMA. One guy can beat the ever living Bolivian death out of another guy and lose the fight owing to the 10 point must scoring system. If we watched GSP Hendricks in a school yard, everyone would say that "Hendricks kicked his ass", and even GSP knew that:

Only in corrupt prize fighting, with personalities like Adelaide Byrd and Pat Lundvall, can stuff like this happen. And us fans wonder why people say "MMA is rigged".

Hendricks still fat no abs even tho he was "roided", while GSP looks like a greek statue carved out of marble. hmmm....

GSP had to leave and become a cherry picker after that fight.

Sucks that he helped fk up middleweight, which was the most exciting division for years.

Hope he stays away for good this time. Don’t let him anywhere near a belt is the lesson learned from his MW debacle

Was close if you score rounds like you're supposed to. I had Hendricks winning but I got no problems with GSP winning. Hendricks dominated his rounds won, GSP scraped the rounds he won. And 1 round was pretty much even.

I would have rather been Hendricks after the fight than GSP I know that much.

Jesus Christ, Dana absolutely eviscerated Georgie in that clip.

DFW tells it like it is. Even when it’s his cash cow.

Classic case of the old unwritten rule that you have to finish the champ in order to beat the champ. See also: Shogun/Machida 1

And this is why GSP has fought a grand total of one time in the last five years. Because Dana White after everything GSP did for the company, did for the sport in general, treated him like a piece of shit and threw him under the bus for no good reason whatsoever.

ahh yes, the renowned MMA media, known for its vast knowledge of the sport!
Its like the "specialists" who said that GGG won against canelo lol, GSP won accept and move along, the Goat dont like controversies

And this is true , go see the fight again GPS haters, hendricks tapped even worse than Conor but the ref did not saw, it was ridiculous

I've watched the fight probably a dozen times and I never noticed that. What time in the round?

Both guys won 2 rounds clearly. The other round (round 1) was a toss up.

A draw would have been fair

the reason was he was pissed that GSP was retiring without giving dana notice after a controversial win

it still wasn't warranted but lets not pretend it was for no reason

hahaha....

You are one of the most PATHETIC gsp haters here.

TONER, confirmed.

GSP is teh GOAT.

Keep drowning in those salty, butt-hurt tears.
@Arm

You and I generally agree and admittedly I’m a long-time GSP critic, but this fight was a loss for Georges. The score cards were wrong, the result was disingenuous.

Aside from Hendricks clearly handling the WW GOAT in the cage, Georges exited the fight game long-term... 4 years!

This certainly reinforces the opinion of those in my camp. I understand there’s a myriad of GSP (and handlers) explanations for his long absence. But don’t forget it was admitted publically (by Rogan, likely others) that GSP hand-picked Bisping as he knew that it was an easymode fight based on their previous sparring sessions.

Let’s just be candid... that fight put a spanking on GSP, in and then out of cage. This doesn’t necessarily remove his status as WW GOAT.

I've watched the fight probably 10 times. Looks more and more like a Hendricks win every time I watch it. Dana was honestly correct, the only round you can definitively give to GSP was round 3.
Round 5 was clearly GSP without a doubt. Problem is rounds 2 and 4 are clearly Hendricks by a mile. Round 1 is very close as well. I can see GSP winning 3 rounds honestly. The issue is round 1,3,5 are meh round wins and 2 and 4 were very decisive.

As a gsp fan, I thought he lost when it was over. But I got to thinking... Everyone thought he lost. Fans. Haters. The media. At the end of the fight that is. I was shocked to hear the decision. Now I have watched the fight a few times and can see how he won. Close fight, but he did win. I think though, that everyone was so used to seeing gsp just dominate everyone that the only way anyone could see it as he was losing. If that was say Mike Perry, I would bet the media results and the fans watching would have been a total different reaction. Just a thought....
I thought he lost as well.
And this was at the heels of Jones & Gus fight (another controversial fight).

I think judges were so used to giving decisions to GSP, they saw differently than most did.

But regardless, that fight was close.
Whether GSP was burned out or Johnny was just peaking, it deserved a rematch and we didn't get to see it.

Unfortunate.

I sometimes get the odd feeling Toner is among us (12 accounts later)...but it's probably not him,he's not jerking off about how UFC sucks and Bellator is the best plus there's just a lot of GSP haters.

On topic,I remember watching it again and thinking GSP 48-47 (I had it the same watching it live) in a toss up type decision but kind of clear imo.People are crazy about this "robbery".TS I think has a point, the fact that he didn't dominate swung some people's opinions. Not sure how anyone could be shocked though,it was a close fight.People have been retarded about this decision since it happened.

I think you miss a point.
As you noted, this was a close fight.
If the decision was against GSP, you would be the frustrated one, and I bet you would not like to see some "GSP hater" gloating and telling you to let it go.
I don't care one way or another. I loved how GSP retired on top.
but just saying you could use some empathy and understand the other side a little... as you said, it was a very close fight.
