There's a lot of athletes (Mir, Romero etc) popping for drugs and then claiming "tainted supplement". Is this a loophole in USADA? Or is it a real problem in the supplement industry?

Lol....The fighters who claim "tainted supplements", took roids, and are lying about it. The only thing "tainted" are the brains of the folks who believe them.

What if someone gets a shitload of supplements tested at a local laboratory, finds out if any are "tainted" and what with, then proceeds to ingest massive amounts of said ingredient always safe in the knowledge his supplement is "tainted" with the same thing....

Tinfoil hat maybe required, but definitely possible.

It's absolutely a loophole... all a fighter has to do is have a friend start a supplement company that has whatever ped they want to use in it.

It's both a legit reason and a excuse/loophole depending on situation.

Get over it.

It's probably just a coincidence that so many fighters end up unwittingly using supplements with banned substances, just like how a few years ago it turned out that a sizable number of pro fighters had dangerously low testosterone levels.

It's the ace up the sleeve for sure lol

I have more respect for the guys that actually come up with a different excuse.

Tainted usually get full ban anyway. Only on here do I see arguments about degree of difficulty. Suspended is suspended.

Yoel popped for ibutamoren which has little to no performance enhancement benefits. USADA independently tested the supplement and confirmed that it was tainted.

Jon Jones' case is totally different as he popped for two drugs commonly used in post cycle therapy

There is no loop hole. Its what a cheater says when caught red handed.

There are incidents like Machida whereby, you tell them spefically that a supplement will make you piss hot.

It is a loophole, obviously. Anyone who believes in it as an excuse is an imbecile.

Oh, dick pills are too, by the way.

Easiest loophole ever

Find a supplement known to have trace drugs in it there's a fuck ton

Take the real shit

Profit

PEDs don't equate to steroids/cycling. If its banned, its banned. Both cheated and therefore, WW GSP GOAT got a buy over PEDs user as he should.

WAR BispiNG

It's an unregulated industry.

That's why real sports like the NFL have their athletes send in samples of all substances they are using to be tested and cleared by the NFL.

The UFC could do this but they are broke and can't afford it.

it can be used as a loophole in some cases.

doesnt take away the fact that those things can happen to any athlete who isn't able to spend milions in his supplements.

It's an issue. I used to think it was a BS loophole but after listening to Jeff Novitsky on his podcast I realize now that it's a problem. The list they have of supplements that are tainted is fucking ridiculous.
