Isnt this the same shit that happened with Hunt?
Since his first fights was outside US and SAC so people went crazy about the click bait article about his low UFC pay. Next fight under an AC he made like +500K (and nobody said a word..)

Get back to me when Tai fights in LV then we know a bit more what he makes...
the 20K is something the mma sites pull out of their ass since there are NO INFORMATION.

This happens time and time again. A fighter pay thread which is based on a source that admits it is plucking numbers out of thin air. 95% of the responses lap it up without any thought to check the source of the information, or other responses within the thread pointing out the disinformation.

This one is particularly hilarious as it isn’t even based on an outdated payout report from a commission who does publish this information.

Is it any wonder fake news is such a formidable weapon in the modern world?

....3 months of minimum fucking wage. Fact that professional MMA fighters headlining cards for the sport's marquee promotion get paid minimum wage to do it is an absolute travesty.

Right, didn’t take into account the conversion. Still, you can get $25p/hr stacking shelves at Woolies. You should be earning a lot more than that for being the main even in a multi billion dollar company.

Look, I'm largely ambivalent on fighter pay and I agree that what it takes in money to train and participate in MMA can be pretty ridiculous. Let's consider this guy transitioning from a hobby to a career. I tried to make it in a band for a few years in the 90s. I spent a fuck-ton on equipment and practice space with the hopes of a long-term payout that never happened. I usually think of fighters in terms of this. In this analogy, Tai Tuivasa just happens to be a band opening for a band that has had some airplay on the radio stations. He's getting paid meagerly and, though he might be worth a boatload more, no one knows quite yet. He's willing to play for peanuts because he has to in order to showcase his talent.

So he took the fight and lost. He gambled. He could've won the fight and KO'd JDS in such amazing fashion he earned 20k more to win and a 50k KO bonus or match of the night. I don't think many would be complaining if a largely unknown fighter made 90k.

    UFC 225 released payout info:
Tai Taivusa: $31,500 ($14,000 to show, $14,000 win bonus, $3,500 fight week incentive pay)

    UFC 221 released payout info:
    Tai Tuivasa
    : $27,500 ($12,000 to show, $12,000 win bonus, $3,500 Reebok sponsorship)

In all, I don't think the 20k figure is accurate when all is said and done. Although that number seems accurate with his earnings so far.

Read the thread. All of those numbers are made up by the writer. Tai has never fought in an area that releases salaries.

You're on quite the mission to kill the thread. That won't change the fact that one of these threads will be started the next time some SJW wants to complain about fighter pay. If my analogy can just stop one of those, it hasn't all been in vain.

Your analogy is irrelevant because your numbers are fake. No one knows what he made.

Man, I hope he made more than 20k. Don't you? If he made 20k or less, that would suck. I hope he made more than that.

It happens with a ton of fighters, people were out here claiming Barao was making 11k as champ cause his payout from 5 fights before he was champ had him making that.

These few shitty payout sites use the last recorded payout or if there is none they go with standard contract pay of 8/8 or 10/10 and people believe it.

Was it 20k or was it 20/20? Because thats a 50% difference. He gambled half his paycheck and got KTFO. Shouldnt have gambled.

As an Australian, 60k per year is minimum wage pretty much.

Assuming he fights 3X per year.

& it will keep happening & posters will ignore the fact that the info is wrong

Again, there is so much real info that you can use regarding low fighter pay that its asinine to use made-up info ;)
