In response to this gentleman giving the 4-Horsemen salute.. the 82n Airborne says..

"Anyone can purchase that hat,” 82nd Airborne wrote on its official Twitter page. “Valor is earned.
Respectfully, anyone who thinks this man represents our culture and values has never worn the maroon beret...and never will."

Talk about "Stolen Valor."

That salute looks as sloppy as Ronda's striking.

Maybe they were just doing the macarena?

I don't see why people feel the need to identify with either Nazis or Socialists/Communists. Both are authoritarian governments that are extremely bad for their people. Why can't we just agree that freedom, democracy, capitalism, and self-determination are what's in the best interests for the people of the United States? Why does this polarization need to occur? It's insane...

I bet he had on a MAGA hate but some tricky liberal took it off and swapped it with this one, then attempted to give him a high five and left him hangin'.

Darn libz.

I'll tell you why and LBJ freaking nailed it...

We all need to try to be good guys because there's too many of the bad.

Nah. A pussy liberal wouldn't get that close to him unless they were surrounded by a mob and hiding behind a mask.

I'm more of a conservative than I am a liberal, so I voted for the guy when presented with two really bad options. But no, I am not a fan of what our current POTUS is saying or doing. Nor am I a fan of what the American Left and the Democratic Party are up to. I think that we've been given some really bad options, and I'd like to see this ship uprighted.

Welp, now we know what Arn Anderson would look like if he became a pekerwood nationalist

This is the generation that monetizes attention. People running public twitter shaming campaigns are doing this for followers, trying to monetize public outrage. I'm telling you, these social justice issues are all made up bullshit.

I think you have a reasonable approach in this post but something is totally wrong with our country when Congress has approval ratings in the teens but reelection rates in the 90's. Like WTF?

This is a really bad argument IMO. This doesn't get at the heart of it. So much of the divide isn't about race, and we are doing ourselves an injustice by trying to make it about race. This is about power and the power of belief.

We have allowed ourselves to default to the power of victimhood. Victims of gun violence become the "experts" on gun rights and legislation, illegal immigrants are the "experts" on immigration reform, the most disenfranchised (or whoever can create the narrative that they've had it worse than anyone else in America) are the "experts" on racism and bigotry, a simple schoolteacher is an "expert" on education policy at the national level, etc. But this isn't true at all. They should have a say, but they are not the authority. However, we like to relinquish authority to those people, accepting their soundbites as truth. It will only be when we stop trying to paint ourselves as victims to gain some sort of moral authority over others that we will be able to step back, figure out the truth, and speak pragmatically to one another.

So I have a theory on this. It's about exceptionalism. I think that a lot of people say, "Congress sucks, but after I researched his/her positions and voting record, my Congressman isn't so bad. It's the rest of them, especially those jerks from California/Texas/the Bible Belt/New England liberals/whatever that's the problem!"

Also, I think it's a lot easier to hate groups than it is individual people.

I definitely think there's a lot of truth to this. People like to be angry. It makes them feel validated, like they're accomplishing something with their lives, that they're part of a great struggle. And the people controlling the discussion are happy to lead others off the proverbial cliff.
