Watched it again recently, mediocre film at worst. I noticed more issues than when I first saw it but far from terrible.

Feel like the internet is *gasp* overracting.

UFC double main event is a great way to think of it. lol.

What I love about Revenge of the Sith too is that somewhere after Kenobi takes out Grievous and makes his quip, the film gets dead serious. For the next 45 minutes, it is very intense and serious. I think that's different than a lot of Star Wars films where there is a good deal of lightheartedness even amidst the more intense battles and what not.

One thing I always loved too about the Yoda/Palps confrontation is that as soon as Yoda uses the force to literally knock Sidious out of his throne, Palpatine is ready to bail lol. Yoda then blocks his path delivers that badass line, "if so powerful you are, why leave?"

I found that great. Because you can't blame Palpatine there. He's got everything to lose and Yoda's got nothing to lose (everything's already been taken from him and the jedi) and has one shot to take him out. Why wouldn't you try to get the hell out of dodge.

Oh another gem of RoTS is the ending montage. And John Williams nailed the score.

From Padme's funeral to the scene where Vader and Sidious watch the construction of death Star with the hint of imperial march in the background.

And the cuts into scene with baby Leai held by the Organas in Alderan. That scene gave me some chills when I heared the "Leai theme" by John Williams.

At that point the anticipation just became intense as I know the next scene will be Luke in Tatooine and I am wondering how they will end the film.

So next is Obi-Wan handing over Baby Luke to the Lars at their Moisture farm and Luke theme playing in the background.

At that point I am already happy and content expecting the end credits but damn what would happen next really killed me! The Force theme plays and Aunt Berru carries
Luke to Owen as they stare into the setting Suns!

They fucking did it paying omage to the Binary Sun set in Ep.IV what an epic way to end it!

If one wants to interpret it the setting Suns in Ep.3 implies that The Sun has indeed has set in the The Jedi Order and what hope remains to restore the Republic.

And for Ep.IV The Binary sun set signifies the setting of the Sun for the Galactic Empire as during that time Luke already is in possesion of Princess Leia's message to Obi-Wan and in esence the begining of the end for Sidious' rule.

Such a great call on the music with the ending montage. That final shot with Uncle Edgerton and Aunt Beru looking at the sunset in the distance after having just been given Luke is epic. Great way to end it.

I really do feel the third prequel blew the other two away even though I reasonably enjoyed all of them to some extent at the time.

and if JJ corrects the damage done by Rian in episode 9, like apparently is being alluded to, then I feel mine and many others disdain for tlj is vindicated and justified. it also throws every argument made by the movies promoters out the window about how none of those setups by JJ mattered.

I still won't see it in the theater.
Word on the street is he is bringing Luke back alive somehow, I’m sort of happy about that and sort of like , they killed him live with it.

Only thing going his direction for somehow explaining he didn’t really die is that Luke’s metal hand doesn’t drop, like OBI Wans light saber did on a new hope.

Seriously, just remake Episode 8 if that kind of repair work is required.

I predict we get

- explanation of Rey's lineage
- explanation of Snoke (and a return of Snoke)
- Luke ain't dead (an astral projection of an astral projection astral projecting)
- Love menage-a-trois ends between Finn/Rose/Rey and goes back to Finn/Rey
- Luke lets Ren kill him which somehow results in Reys, Ren & Snokes death (balance)

Plaugus brings snoke back to life, they show up together.

Luke was actually on Degobah, astral projecting to actu, then too Hoth 2.0.

Ren Roofies Rey, Finn goes nuts and dies trying to White Knight because rose gets in the way.

Galen Marek shows up out of no where and says
“I’ve had enough of this shit” and lays waste to everything ending it all and finds Kennedy and impales her too, bringing balance back to the SW saga

So much time and effort wasted on Rian Johnson ITT. You're giving him way too much credit with these conspiracy theories.

He's just a mediocre director who shit the bed on a project that was just too big for him. That's all. Then he went on a Uwe Boll style apology tour calling everyone else stupid for not appreciating his shitty movie.

If I wasn't interested in conversation I wouldn't of bothered to read your posts, or taken the time to write a reply.
I'm not sure where this characterization of me came from as i am not throwing out any personal insults, and am giving exact reasons why I didnt like things, and not simply saying "this movie sucks"
I appreciate your passion, and respect the time you put into your posts while remaining civil, so I am not about to take the time qnd energy to read or write anything for nothing

As far as the dreadnaughts go. ..my main point wasn't about how many exactly are left. Again, you keep going back to the source material. You need to look at this from a viewer's perspective, a viewer that has read no source material.
I am a casual Star Wars fan. All I have is what i watch on the screen. If you have read the books, then the lack of onscreen details will likely be easier for you to swallow---but how can you expect a person that has none of that outside information to give the movie the same leeway?

Lol I see the pictures you posted, and i just watched the clip of the scene that @One MMA Fan posted....was I supposed to count how many ships are left in real time? Look at that clip. Despite whatever numbers are left according to your calculations from the source...looking at that scene makes me think that that fleet is done. Not that ALL their ships are destroyed, but that they received a fatal blow that would make their threat to the galaxy over.

And this goes back to my point of what the movie shows vs what blanks you're filling in with your imagination and source material
The movie does not make me feel like The Order is still a credible, scary threat at the end of the movie. I felt like the rebels had a close win, if anything. If that wasn't the intent, then the movie did an awful job of making me feel that the Order was anything to worry about

DJ---- . Canto was a waste of time because Finn and Rose had to go to the casino to look for a guy that wasn't even there, then they get arrested for a parking violation to look for this guy that wasn't even there, and then they have to go on a prison break and chase to escape a jail cell without even getting the guy they came for. That entire plot was a waste of time. There are literally countless ways they could have better spent that time. The problem isn't that they went to Canto, it's the stupid crap they did when they got there.

So with Finn seeing the corruption and who the bad guys are, and why fight for the rebels, all that is fine. But that is extremely shallow development . I mean, really...slavery is bad. ..? Animal abuse is bad? Is that really a big revelation? It's pretty clear who the bad guys are.
Finn is aware of that from TFA when he is ordered to fire on civilians. Who doesn’t understand the Order is bad? A trilogy needs to go a lot deeper than that. Finn is a former stormtrooper. How does he have nothing to say about that life? Or about his new freedom? He is an extremely shallow character

Kylo..we don't know what he wants. That is key for me. The biggest issue i have with his character is that he doesn't seem to know what he wants. And his actions in TFA don't add up to his actions in TLJ.

Rey...is bland. I don't find anything fascinating about her, or her story. So she just became an elite staff fighter and mechanic because .....? Can i do the same if i get stranded on some desert planet? Who taught her? Did she train herself? Her just knowing how to do everything is not interesting.
<WellThere>

There is nothing admirable about it, that was Luke's low point that was the shame and guilt that made him into the old man bitter and recluse.

The heck so many have problems getting pass that point and change.. anything except Luke epic, cool, zen hero doing full fan service stuff got us here and most of you tip tow around this issue and poke holes around everything because the 'movie is crap and others shouldn't like it other, Disney ruined Star Wars'... well okay.
Because there's absolutely no progression. You can't have a character do a complete 180 offscreen.

Glad to see you're coming around.

{<hhh]
I'm not. It would be horrid if true, and it's horrid he thinks so. I find some of the things he says more unbelievable than when we say stuff like "I think we watched two different films." Like, how the hell do you say any of that with a straight face?

How did you feel when Yoda went into exile for 20 years.

When Luke does it, it's a big no no all of a sudden cause self expectations.

Luke ended up like Yoda.. well screw that monster Rian Johnson.
