Spence vs Lamont Peterson January 20th Showtime. Barclays Center

Awesome, like the fight, if Spence walks through him, it'll say a lot because Peterson is a tough time historically.

They will meet at the boxing hotbed of Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, in the main event of a Showtime-televised card (9 p.m. ET), promoters Lou DiBella and Tom Brown announced Tuesday. Showtime said undercard bouts will be announced at a later date.

In addition to Errol Spence Jr. defending his welterweight world title for the first time when he takes on Lamont Peterson in the main event of the Showtime card on Jan. 20 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, the co-feature, which has not been formally announced yet, will be lightweight world titleholder Robert Easter Jr. (20-0, 14 KOs) defending against former junior lightweight titlist Javier Fortuna (33-1-1, 23 KOs). Other bouts on the undercard, which also have not been announced yet, will include a very intriguing heavyweight fight between Adam Kownacki (16-0, 13 KOs) and Iago Kiladze (26-1, 18 KOs) as well as light heavyweight Marcus Browne (20-0, 15 KOs) in action, most likely against Francy Ntetu (17-1, 4 KOs).

Showtime also announced that it will stream two additional bouts from the card, both scheduled for 10 rounds, on the Showtime Sports YouTube channel and on the Showtime boxing Facebook page.

In one bout, light heavyweight contender Marcus Browne (20-0, 15 KOs), 27, a 2012 U.S. Olympian from Staten Island, New York, will face Francy Ntetu (17-1, 4 KOs), 35, a native of Congo fighting out of Quebec.

Browne, a southpaw, was supposed to meet Russian Igor Mikhalkin (21-1, 9 KOs) in a title eliminator for the right to challenge world titlist Artur Beterbiev, but Mikhalkin withdrew a week or so ago when he was offered a March 3 shot at Sergey Kovalev's 175-pound world title.

In the other bout, heavyweight contender Adam Kownacki (16-0, 13 KOs), 28, a Poland native fighting out of Brooklyn, will face Iago Kiladze (26-1, 18 KOs), 31, a native of the Republic of Georgia also fighting out of Brooklyn.

I wish they still aired these on Shotime Extreme. The undercard bouts. That was spectacular when they were doing that, IMO.

Weights from Brooklyn, New York for Saturday night’s Showtime card at Barclays Center: Errol Spence Jr. 147 pounds, Lamont Peterson 146.75 pounds.

Fortuna was only able to lose four ounces within the two hours he was afforded to lose 1½ pounds. Fortuna’s final official weight was 136.4 pounds for his fight Saturday night against IBF lightweight champion Robert Easter Jr.

The 28-year-old Fortuna’s failure to make the lightweight limit of 135 pounds cost him a title shot, as Easter’s title won’t be at stake when they square off on the Errol Spence Jr.-Lamont Peterson undercard at Barclays Center (Showtime; 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT).

Glad this fight is happening felt like i was on a no boxing diet lol

Spence needs to work on his inside fighting Defense cause he stays to long on the inside and gets hit and he smothers his own counter punches cause hes to close. He might of done this on purpose, cause he saw GGG pressure Brook and he didn't like it and he didn't fear what was coming back at him. But that's a big mistake that can catch up with him later on with a strong puncher that can hurt him.
GGG putting pressure on Brook to make him fight cause he doesn't like pressure fighting.

Spence putting pressure on Brook like GGG did but just like GGG he gets hit to much smothers his own punches blamed it on the layoff. So it looks like people called him out on this and he didn't intend to fight like this getting hit.

So hes still has a lot of work to do and still has to show me hes that good, that gifted of a fighter.

But Floyd has seen him up close and says hes the truth. I want to see it though cause iv heard of those world beaters killers in sparing that boxers trainers talk about, but in the ring they shell up under the lights.
He could be one of those type of fighters, he blamed the Brook fight on the layoff. But Floyd took 1 year off and came back and made it look easy but that's Floyd. But Floyd is a Jim rat that soaks up information.

Spence might just be a Jim star but looks different, in a fight makes mistakes in the Ring that he wouldn't do in the Jim and one day he might pay for it.

If he fights Keith Thurman like Brook inside trying to overpower him, hes in for a big surprise like Garcia was surprised.

Hes still good enough to be champ and he is but is he the truth. The World Beater that cleans out 147 and 155 and is champ at 160, we will see.

kell has very good footwork, mobile and is a big 147.

peterson does not have good footwork, is stationary for the most part and is not a big 147

lamont is going to have nothing to keep spence off of him

I like Kownacki. He's too fat to do anything to the elite, but he has a bit of talent.
