josh barnett isnt 260 shredded, dude is soft as hell lol, and for a reason. how do u expect ngannou to utilize bjj if he gasses as quickly as he does? grappling takes a lot of energy and is very draining. a guy carrying THAT MUCH mass on him is never going to have the energy, period. he's a 5 minute-10 minute fighter at the most. thats why the gameplan every fight is go for the KO in the 1st round.

on top of that hes already over 30 years old and hes still learning the basics of the ground game and grappling in general - guys like mir and barnett were high level in that regard by that age. barnett is a catch wrestler and won the metamoris tournament and did other submission grappling tournaments. mir is a legit black belt in BJJ and was armbarring mf's 15 years ago. a guy over 30 as one dimensional as he is is never going to reach that level.

hes better of just working picking his shots better on the feet and patching up his technique on the feet as well, and work on his takedown defense. he'll need to lose some muscle if he wants to expand his overall game

I've read both Ngannou/Lewis both agreed to bang. They'll announce it soon. Pretty sure he knocks out Derrick in the 1st round though if ever they booked them.

reality though, it's only ONE guy. Stipe.

everyone else they'e big IFs. Cormier is retiring no matter what in 2019, Cain might as well be retired, and Blaydes he already beat.

his grappling "game" is never going to change that much. that's the point. he only needs to learn a few key moves in order for him to get back up. underhooks, whizzers, sprawls, and little things like when you get into a clinch, immediately control the opponent's wrists.

that's why i said his cardio is more important. if he starts learning all these moves he won't use, it's just a waste of time. he needs to learn just a few basics, and let his size, athleticism, and strength do the rest. having better cardio will make his grappling that much more effective and allow him to muscle out of some bad positions if he has to without gassing him too badly.

no matter how good he gets at grappling, if he still has the same cardio, he'll get beaten by those guys anyway once he gets tired unless he 1 punch KO's them all.

having cardio will also give him more of a chance to KO someone.
