Jones is an extreme outlier for a comparison. Dude for sure hasn't seemed to live up to the hype, but has legit skill and potential. Too young to be a bust. More than a few high level guys didn't put it all together until ten years older than Ságe.

I disagree. Martial arts talent involves more than being able to perform fancy kicks. Its about timing, distance, finding openings, defense, head movement, fighting instincts, etc.

Considering his age he is definitely not a bust, and has a lot of time to develop. But, yeah it's pretty clear up to this point he will never rank amonst the elite fighters. I could see him being top 15 at some point though, eventually.

I get what you're saying. The difference to me is you can teach someone all of those things you mentioned, which is what both of them have been training for years, but you can't teach someone to be a fighter. Make sense?
