This is the list of fighters Chael Sonnen has lost to since he first joined the UFC:One of them dieded the other one and went on to KO Prime Machida to be a champion, and the other got KO’d by Sokoudjou and retired to surf.
Chael beat the better one.
Of course do not let any of this distract you from the fact that Anthony Smith look like he got chia pet hair that’s still trying to grow in fully.
I do. And I quoted that person. Let's do it again for the class. You understand, of course, that before you quoted me I was talking to someone else yes?
Arona would tool Chael
Now put it in the context of the topic of the thread, and there we have itI do. And I quoted that person. Let's do it again for the class.
I thought the exact same thing when I saw the random body shot. It was a last ditch effort to at least hit him before being blasted into sleepy town.STFU
Shogun just got old
and too many injuries
Prime Shogun would crucify most of these cans
He looked quite off this week
And didn't look himself in the octagon at all
So not surprised
And then when he threw that sloppy body shot that made no sense
I knew it was over
"Arona is a vale tudo based"Arona is a vale tudo based submission grappler with a long track record of ADCC competition with no standup game to speak of
Chael Sonnen is a freestyle wrestler, with experience in greco roman who has an underrated, if sloppy, southpaw standup game based around straight line left straights.
You're comparing them because they both shoot a double leg and are physical on top, despite the fact that they both have different finishes off their initial entry, and like doing different sorts of work from top position.
Your comparison is just as stupid as me picking two random lanky strikers and comparing them because they do Muay Thai, which of course ignores the vast variety in Muay Thai styles (not to mention regional and national variations and/or personal quirks).

Oh, well then to stay in the context of the thread the only thing Chael owns is Jeremy Horn's ballsack in his face from all the triangle chokes. Now put it in the context of the topic of the thread, and there we have it
Just another fight that shows that the UFC is much better than Pride ever was. A bunch of roided out can crushers in that org. A couple of good fighters like Hendo, but not much else.
There was a time period where out of the 4 possible divisions that PRIDE and the UFC shared, all 4 divisions had champions that were either former PRIDE fighters or had a fighter that went to fight in Japan to make a name for themselves by beating a PRIDE champion (in essence making him a PRIDE champion himself)....despite a large percent of them coming to the ufc and taking all the belts.
Arona would tool Chael
Chael was Jeremy Horns personal punching bag/grappling dummy
No apparantly Shogun will be defined by his loss tonight. Like fuck , does any pro sport have greats disrespected like MMA"Any version of him would have lost tonight."
Man, it's such a shame how MMA fans don't understand how age/injuries catch up to fighters.
Smith wouldn't have belonged in the same cage as an 05' GP Shogun, and would have gotten routed by even an 09' or 10' Shogun.
Fighters get old. It doesn't take away from their legacy, accomplishments, or abilities at their peak.
This is only Smith's fourth win against a fighter than even remotely matters, and all four were either way past their prime or totally shot.
