    Hey guys,

I have a pair of boxing gloves that I regularly air out. They smell fine when it's not in use, but during and immediate right after working out w/ boxing gloves on, they smell like crap! Not only that, but my hands, especially my fingers and underneath the fingernails smell too.

    Any solutions?

You might want to try glove dogs. They fit inside your gloves and keep them from stinkin'. There is this stuff you spray on gear (pads, redman suits,...) to keep it from smelling. I wish I knew where to get it. I will keep looking for you.

here is something i read online:

Get woodshavings (the type you put in hamster cages) and put them in an old sock and put the contraption in your gloves when your not using them

after you wear them try putting news paper in them it absorbs the sweat left in them. just like it does with stank running shoes. it realy does take alot of the stank out of them

mr ssf told another poster with gi smell problems to Put the gi in a plastic bag and throw it in the freezer over night. It will kill the bac that cause the stink. maybe this could work on the gloves as well?

honestly, I've never heard of that approach benicio... I am not too sure if freezing your gloves would do wonders for the straps and leather though...

Should work actually. Ron's not far off on that, I do that to my glove liners sometimes when they get stankified.

I dont think i want to put my gloves in the freezer, i doubt my girlfriend would be too happy with it either when her ice cream came out smelling like i do after training.

You can make your own dogs with cedar chips and gold bond powder, and canvas.

Germs and microbes become inert in cold temperatures so the smell would go away because the bacteria living off the sweat would die. The smell wouldn't go onto anything else.

Ah, that's nasty - I know what you mean! Some of the gloves in m gym stink so bad it's actually kind of difficult to keep your hands by your head, haha.

Nice info too by the way. Have bookmarked the pages for when I eventually get my own gloves.

Seriously, just wear some mexican wraps with your gloves. The wraps will soak up your stinky ass sweat. Just make sure you air out your wraps or wash em. I have like 5 pairs of wraps that I run thru when they get stinky. My gloves don't stink. But I also hit em up with Lysol every once in a while.
