Should the NFL be required to place Colin Kapernick on a team?

The NFL is receiving a tremendous amount of backlash for Colin Kapernick being unable to find a job with a team. It is clearly a race issue and protests are being planned for the new season.

So should someone at this point step in and force them to find a team for Kap to play on? Discrimination is illegal in this country, so clearly the NFL is in violation of those laws.

I know a lot of you will fly off the handle, but the bottom line is that his activism has hurt him. Dont tell me Jay Cutler gets hired over him if owners were simply looking at skill. Kap is one of the top young qb's in the game and his not being on a team is ridiculous and stems from one thing.....racism.

So what say you Sherdog? Should they find him a team?

And I know this is hard, but please keep this civil l. Lets just focus on the issue of race and how that has clearly cost him work. No need to get personal in the discussion like those on the right like to do.

EDIT- can a mod edit the title please? I left the "e" out of Kaepernick

It's a race issue you say? Interesting. Let me think about all of the black players in the NFL for a second.

I would say it is a behavior thing.

Jay Cutler already knows the Dolphins system. That's why he got that job over Kaep.

Proving collusion is next to impossible without a whistleblower on the owners' side, which isn't going to happen.

No doubt his activism has hurt him. Ravens confirmed as much because their coaching/personnel departments were clearly interested in bringing him on, but the owners stepped in and said no. Heard something this morning where Kaep hasn't even talked to the union about it. I figured they'd be all over this.

I like his talent but he and his girlfriend are a PR nightmare.

I saw his girlfriend tweeting racist stuff about the ravens owner and Ray Lewis recently.

I agree. NFL is known for discriminating against black players. It seems like there are barely any blacks playing in the NFL.

As far as his talent, I love Kaep's athleticism. It's fun to watch. And tough to stop. I was a fan of his when he came into the league.

It's not a race issue. It's a combination of the baggage he brings and the price he wants compared to how good he is (or isn't).

Not only does Cutler know the system he's better than him.

And the racism angle is ridiculous when the league is something like 80% black. And 5 starting QBs are black, one of which is a MVP winner.

Clearly you are an idiot who doesn't know what you are writing about.

Clearly you should stop the bleeding heart liberal schtick.

There is a 10+ page thread about this already, the answer is no.

They dont mind black players who tow the line. Its a different story when you get political and point out the flaws of our society. Its a complex issue you are purposefully trying to dumb down

    Yep. Hes a hot potato.

He made a bold.move with the whole kneeling shit. Now, he has no leg to stand on (i mean, kneel, lol, im amazing) and nothing to competitive to bargain. Thats the problem with team sports, there are so many replacements. Every team ignoring him to impossible to prove that its a race thing. Hes a made himself into a martyr.

    In short, fuck him.

I know exactly what i am talking about. I asked to keep it civil but clearly your simple right wing mind is unable to discuss a topic without trying to degrade others, as if that somehow makes your point more true. I figured there would be a thread but saw nothing 4 pages in.

Solid troll job lol -- all other players who also knelt are playing.

Also, he had a job this year -- he opted out. He exercised his right to do that and to protest. Teams now exercising their right to not hire him.

Now he can continue to focus on his crusade full time...or until his money runs out.

Or he can look for a job in Canada or Europe

Yeah, he's got way too much baggage for the price he would want. And even still, the teams would face backlash for signing this guy.

I remember Vick, he came out and apologized, Tony Dungy mentored him and he had to make some amends for his past. To prove that he was a changed man.

I think Kaep would have to do the same thing. He really turned off a lot of people that liked him. Including me.

Yes, great idea. make a team take him. Which one? Why not make a team take Vince Young then. He was a better QB than Kapernick.. He was just too stupid to know the offense.
