I seem to recall a young boy had contracted the virus through transfusion, but it was a long time ago.
Medical science and screening has since gotten much more sophisticated though, of course, since then.

If there is no real increased risk due to advanced testing and screening, then I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to give blood. Weird battle to fight imo.

The only thing that is a concern on my end really is the up to 6 month period where HIV can lie dormant before being detected.
But honestly, I'm not knowledgeable enough of the topic to really comment whether or not i's 100% safe.

I would accept blood from a normal gay dude who uses condoms, or a dude in a monogamous gay relationship, or gay marriage. Your average gay dude isn't as promiscuous and negligent as a married Donald Trump.

I did read the policy and I don't agree, as they are just asking about any sex with men within the past 12 months, not number of partners or if the sex was with a condom, and it doesn't sound they are testing the blood and are just taking people's word for their sexual activity. And Trump was cheating on his wife, and his gumar, with a pornstar and not wearing protection. If you add in all of the fuckboys Melania had to the number of dicks Stormy and Karen McDougal took in a year, then have a lot guys asking Trump the question Arlovski asked Tim Sylvia.

I've donated blood and plasma several times and they always make me fill out a long questionnaire. I always assumed any donated blood or plasma would be thoroughly tested before using it on real people, especially given that most of the people that I saw at donation centers looked like drug addicts.

Am I reading this article right, am I to understand that the fluids are not tested? That the cleanliness of the fluid is just given a check mark based off of some questions that some dirty blood facility downtown asked all the crackheads that where in there donating?

Can't they just test them beforehand? Or at least test the donated blood before they use it? I guess it's cost related, but I would think that they would test all blood before injecting it into someone else. I don't know how it all works, but I hope they aren't just using the honor system to distinguish clean blood from dirty blood, before they actually use it.

I've donated about two dozen times and could have lied on the questionnaire at any point. I would hope that the blood gets tested at some point because if somebody's word is being considered perfectly true, I don't want to have a blood transfusion EVER in my life...
