Simply because they tapped to strikes which is absolutely embarrassing
I can pardon tapping to fully-locked choke, but tapping to strikes OH HEEEEEEL NAAAW
Legends don’t do that

Live to fight another day! If it were a life and death contest I'd agree tapping is soft but it is a game. Definitely something to be ashamed of but their resumes are deserving of legendary status

If anything they are proof that it can happen to the best of them.

You take so much more damage from undefended strikes compared to passing out from a choke (as long as the ref is paying attention.

I would agree about GSP since he tapped to strikes from a lightweight. Shogun was getting battered by a 200 lbs guy so I'll let it slide.

That's why Conor is such a master. He knows you give up the neck for the easy choke way before it ever gets to that point.

The legendary thing to do is roll over and give them your neck, like Conor did for Diaz.

Oops. In too late.
