I am all for second chances, but what I dislike personally is people who have a real good life, found to be a cheater, then continue to benefit from the result of said cheating, an unfair advantage over others.

I am a big sports fan, and I cannot point out any other sports with a fan base as lenient as that of MMA fans.

I am just wondering why that is and it's also hilarious that fans of cheaters often try to paint others fighters as being dirty, for lack of more complete testing. Then, I suppose we might try to call out Pele, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, for potential cheaters as well, and really anyone who ever competed in any field of athletic competition before a scientific development that improved, not yet perfected, drug testing.

It's nothing short of absolute disgusting when someone like Chael Sonnen pops and says something like if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying, when there are million other people who suffers and toils for success without taking short cuts. It's more shocking that some people applaud someone like Sonnen for being upfront about his cheating, for being honest about it, only after getting caught. If he was so honorable and honest, why was he hiding it in first place?

But why do people not cheat if they can and want to win? He may argue. Why not rob people and shoot them in back alley if you are not going to get caught?

Well, some people have integrity, I suppose.

But I just am wondering why that is, that we are so lenient in MMA towards cheaters like Anderson Silva, Chael Sonnen.

It wouldn't be cheating if it was legal. These guys cycle on and off between fights. They just dont get caught.

Leagize it and its not an issue

We are lenient because they are amazing at what they do. They give good entertainment value.

The reasoning is that numerous different people in the business with insider knowledge have said time and time again that the vast majority of UFC fighters have taken banned PED's. Its the same reason why I don't look down on baseball players from the 90's who were juicing, because almost everyone was.

It's still shitty when fighters fail tests, but you're just being naive as fuck if you believe that most fighters are clean. I will always like and respect the fighters that don't fail tests more, but I'm never surprised or disappointed in someone when they fail a test. Its a very narrow minded way of looking at things if you believe that all people who fail drug tests are cheaters, and all people who don't are not cheaters. It's just not that black and white.

Football players especially old school ones were definitely not juicing with what we know as PEDS now. They may have been on cocaine etc but they werent on the steroids, EPO, etc.
Pele wasnt on PEDS.
Football is like one of the only sports where I think a majority of players are PEDS free.

Nor do I think Woods, or Jordan or anyone on that list.

But if you included fighters I wouldnt disagree.

PEDs will forever be the elephant in the room when it comes to any professional sport.

All USADA has brought is fewer fun fights. We are awash in cancelled fights, missed weights, injuries, and suspensions.

"Legitimacy" has proven itself a pyrrhic victory.

Just avert your fat beady eyes if you don't like seeing TRT Vitor decapitate fools. If you can.

Tiger juiced...

NFL handeggers pop all the time, no one cares mate. MMA, NFL, CBA no one cares.

Not just lenient, but in full blown denial at times.

I can't even COUNT how many times I've heard, "Anderson has been CLEARED of his second PED fail", which is an absolute lie.

He was NOT cleared at all. He simply got the LESSER charge for INTENT, claiming the steroid that they found in his system came from him unknowingly ingesting it thru a tainted supplement.

He still was found guilty of having said STEROID in his system, and is currently serving out a suspension for it as we speak.

Revisionists / liars keep repeating the same BS though, hoping that if they repeat the "He was cleared" lie enough, that it will just get accepted as truth.

Captain Bizarro Land.

Because professional athletes are not clean.

I find it worse eye pokes, greasing, holding a towel than people using banned substances.

Source?

Havent heard.....
It's widely speculated/known among golf circles. It was a big driver that brought more players to do it and which led to the PGA starting to test in 09 I believe. It was the wild west up to that point.

So you dont have a source...

He may very well have juiced but........

There aren't sources for that stuff, what do you want? A picture with the paper and the date with a needle going into his skin with him verbally explaining what he is doing? You don't get that?

Can't point out another lenient sport with cheating? NFL, NBA, MBA for starters... They single out the odd player but steroids abuse is rampant in those sports.

If you are operating under some dumbass "cheaters/non-cheaters" paradigm you are misunderstanding the situation. A "cheater" is someone who USADA claims has taken a substance that they have placed on a list of "prohibited substances". This includes all kinds of things. Coffee. Skin cream. Over the counter weight loss sups. Intravenous fucking vitamins for god's sake.

The reality is that everyone is taking a shit ton of supplements and the difference between "cheaters" and "non-cheaters" is that a supplement may be contaminated or may itself be prohibited for no particularly good reason. A "cheater" is s guy who takes 50 supps and one of them is arbitrarily banned or tainted, a "non-cheater" is a guy who takes 50 supps and none are arbitrarily banned and he had the good luck that none of the 50 supps were tainted.

Furthermore USADA has a track record of mistesting samples and then having their decisions overturned on appeal. :)

You talked about integrity and list Pele, Jordan and Tiger Woods.

Pele advertised viagra. He is literally Anderson Silva before Anderson Silva.

Jordan was an asshole by all accounts.

Tiger Woods. Do I even need to go there?

Just interesting that those 3 goats could all be MMA memes in a different life.
