Lou DiBella, promoter for middleweight contender Sergiy Derevyanchenko (10-0, 8 KOs), won the mandatory purse bid set down by the International Boxing Federation for the final eliminator with Tureano Johnson (20-1, 14 KOs). DiBella submitted a winning bid of of $121,000 - which overcame the bid by Johnson's promoter, Golden Boy Promotions - and they submitted a bid of $62,000.

Pursuant to the terms of the purse bid, there will be a 50-50 split between [IBF number one] Johnson and [IBF number two] Derevyanchenko. The winner of the fight will become the mandatory challenger to current IBF champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin, who defends his world titles against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on September 16th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Derevyanchenko was in action back in March, when he blasted out undefeated Kemahl Russell in five rounds at the Fitzgerald's Casino & Hotel in Tunica, Mississippi.

Johnson has won six fights in a row since suffering his only career defeat in April of 2014 at the hands of Curtis Stevens, who was behind on points and managed to get the victory in the final moments of the tenth and final round. Derevyanchenko, 31 years old, competed in the 2008 Olympics as part of the very talented team from Ukraine. He also won the bronze medal at middleweight at the 2007 World Amateur Boxing Championships. - See more at: http://www.boxingscene.com/sergiy-d...g-bid-by-dibella--117306#sthash.yNcbd41A.dpuf

Good fight. But with this making a mandatory challenger and the Heiland vs Charlo winner becoming a mandatory as well someone is going to have to wait. Add in the rematch clause if GGG wins and some of this could take a while.
