Honestly, I think this season and season 17 are the best in years. Even if every other fight on the show would be a clinchfest, which of course we all doubt seeing fighters' skills and styles, we would remember it as very good.
And this season also disproves the theories spread widely about how flyweight is boring, has no talent and should be destroyed. Flyweights are boring? Look at these guys here. Can't finish fights? Every single fight was exciting and provided a finish. Even some badass knockouts. Almost every guy in this show has some potential.
Flyweight is fun, it's just a bad luck that the guys like DJ, Benavidez and Cejudo happened to be at the top. However, it'll change. In the few years, with a good talent research, it can become really exciting weight class. Hope it happens.
