I'm a Lions fan... because Barry Sanders was an otherworldly talent and LA lost their football teams so I never grew attached to a local team.

I've never even been to Detroit, even though I wouldn't mind visiting for a football game someday, I hear they've turned the downtown area around a bit in recent years.

You should check it out. First class airport, the Detroit institute of art, very nice casinos (if you are into that), and the entire downtown and sports area has gentrified. Remember what the LA live area looked like 25 yrs ago? Well the same sort of turnaround has happened downtown.

Also some of the finest art deco architecture and interiors that you'll ever see.

Whats a snow day?

At my kid's school the buses don't run if there is any snow. No seriously. About 5 years ago they would close school for just 3" of snow - LMAO! Pretty funny because I remember walking to school in grade 2 or 3 and the sidewalks were tunnels carved into 6' of snow.

growing up on the East Coast, we had tons of snow every winter. we would get up early and listen to the radio to see if schools were closed. it usually took at least a foot or two to close them.

Think Im too much of a pussy to do my job in the snow. Dont know how those cats in Alaska and Canada can get down like that. Moving valves or getting on tools when your hands feel like theyre going to snap off lol.

Then again, its miserable here when its 90+ working around equipment thats 900 degrees too. Luckily dont have the humidity like back East.

Snow isn't so bad, it's the wind that always gets you. If there's moisture in the air and some decent wind a nice above 0F day can get brutal in a real hurry.

Like right now, it's -9 where I live. Feels like -35 with the wind. That's a huge difference.
