Russian plane shot down UPDATE: S-300 for Syria

Russian is doing a piss poor job even helping Assad while ignoring all international laws and other restrictions. How exactly to you think they would be able to project anything resembling a long term engagement with Israel? I mean, they might be able to shoot down enough of their own aircraft to where Israel might get bored.

Ha!

Delusions of fucking grandure.

Probably just your regular russian landing

I won't argue against that, but I will say that historical ties between Iran and USSR trump that.

Russia and Israel probably could be real allies if it wasn't for Iran. Iran brings an actual benefit to being allies with. They have a army bigger then a football team, natural resources, and an economy bigger then Rhode Island, ect.

Israel just doesn't bring much to the table.
The ties between Russia and Iran is not that strong. They are basically being forced upon each other, it's more a matter of circumstance than anything else. Russia shows willingness to go along with the rhetoric of getting Iran out of Syria, as impossible as that is, and there is a clear distinction between military operations led by Iran and Russia in Syria. They are only allies out of necessity. There was a brief window where russia was flying out of an iranian airbase, but that was quickly shutdown. Something obviously broke down behind the scenes. Russia doesn't really aspire to be the leader of the pariah states. They have older goals.

Well spell it out for us then. We're all watching the Russians and their allies shoot down their own aircraft in a multi-year standoff that they still can't close even when resorting to dropping biological agents on population centers. So how do the russians suddenly go from bumbling idiots who can't push out jihadi's with the full cooperation of the host nation while unrestrained by the laws of war; to easily rolling over Israel?

So reports that the israelis actually used a russian plane as cover for their airstrike. That is just... Israel is truly a devious nation.

How would they use it as cover exactly? Given the timing, isn't this just Russia saying, "Israel attacked without giving us time to ground our plane, and with their level of training and the age/condition of the equipment we sold them, there was a always a good chance our allies would friendly fire."

Looks like nothing will come of it.

Sure, but that necessity is driven by US policy towards both that has been in place for so long, it has created ties that are more then an alliance of convienence. They have economic infastructure and military strategy that are dependent on each other built up over half a century.

That is fair but doesn't negate the deep ties between Russia and Israel, that goes beyond necessity.

Reports that an Israeli F16 was litterally trailing the shot down spyplane. Nothing confirmed yet.

What is this hyperbolic nonsense? Care to unpack your message with specifics?

The Russians have basically won the war for the Syrian goverment on a training budget, using a fraction of their airfleet, while the US can't even push out the Taliban in Afghanistan after spending trillions of dollars. What does that say about the US then?

The only reason there are "jihadis" left in Syria is because they have the support and protection of NATO and US allies. The US have been screeching to protect the AQ stronghold of Idlib for a while now and they still illegally occupy other parts, that are now devoid of ISIS with the help of Russia. The only part of Syria that has a big and clear ISIS presence is in the US "sphere of influence" where they will bomb Syrian forces if they took the fight to them.

Keep it going russian trolls.
It is fantastic reading material from you :D :D :D

Update here guys....

Looks like Russia has rejected Isreals explantion for the downed plane.

They say they are now shipping S-300 to Syria within 2 weeks for deployment by the Syrian govnerment.

Get this shit by isreal. That shit liberman said that if Syria employs the systems that isreal will attack Syria. Well that troll represents the lunacy of isreal.

If you try to defend against our constant illegal attacks, thats an outrage!! We will surely attack you even more!

Can't make that shit up folks

Russian logic...
Syrians shoot down plane....blame the jews.... LOL. Not the person who fired the shot.

They then send in S-300s for what? To shoot down F22 and F35s that has never been shot down in combat? To shoot down D Block F16s or newer F16 Vipers with stealth capability? Maybe they are trying to shoot down the older F16 I block models? Russia has been supporting Hezbollah, most people knew this, but this is proof. Surprised they didnt go with the S400 which could shoot down all variants of F16s.

Hell Israel has been the first to put the F35 in combat... and has been bombing the shit out of Hamas.
Are they tempting Israel to bomb the ever loving shit out of them by bringing in more S-300s and threatening to shoot them down?
This will be fun to watch the jews play with american made toys and destroy the russians primitive crap.

(and yes my fellow Americans Israel flew the F-35 in combat before the USA, multiple times already.)

"Israel has struck targets in the Middle East with the F-35 Adir jet twice, making the Jewish state the first country to use the stealth fighter in a combat role in the region, Israel Air Force Commander Maj.-Gen. Amikam Norkin announced on Tuesday.

“We are flying the F-35 all over the Middle East. It has become part of our operational capabilities. We are the first to attack using the F-35 in the Middle East and have already attacked twice on different fronts,” he said during the IAF Senior Air Force Conference in Herzliya."

The s-300 is a good deterrent to keep the rogue state of Israel out of trying what they just did again, Israel still carries out most strikes with their f16s. The blame lies on Israel, because of carrying out airstrikes on foreign soil and using a Russian spyplanes trail as cover, get that you absolute mong? Americans just astound me with their ignorance. If you believe russian systems are "primitive crap" you will be in for a rude awakening, Israel will of course try to use the most underhanded tactics possible, maybe trailing civilian flights next time and they will keep abusing Lebanse air space, but this puts a dent in their illegal actions. Syria already shot down a plane using downgraded decades old tech.

The S300 is junk meant for older model planes.

Maybe the Syrians should have identified the Russian spy plane but.... noooooo. Jews fault too?
Please tell me how Russia and its 1 single diesel aircraft carrier are high end tech...How they cancelled their first stealth plane the SU-57/T-50... Whats so high end? Nothing. They use primitive tech. Most of their tech is. The US is leaving 5th gen stealth planes and moving onto 6th gen now... Russia hasnt even had a stealth plane yet.... The US has 20 aircraft carriers... 11 being nuclear powered...
China and Russia are freaking out extremely hard right now because of THAAD and soon to be in Japan Aegis Ashore, capable of shooting down ICBMs over the country thats firing... THAADS radar is so strong its peaking into China and they hate it. The US is so far more advanced then any other nation in terms of military technology, its insane.

"The Chinese have essentially put a de facto blockage on South Korea for deploying THAAD," said Harry Kazianis, director of defense studies at the Center for the National Interest, a think-tank founded by former President Richard Nixon."

I don't know, how can I spell it out for you simpler.

Israel was using a Russian spyplane as cover in their strike. Old Syrian air defenses, that are obviously not integerated with actual Russian planes, shot down the IL-20 during the Israeli attack, because Israel was using the plane as cover. Russia blames Israel for not giving notification of their strike, and unwillingness by Israel to change their practices led to Russia now delivering the s-300, a system that will make it harder to carry out strikes with the f-16, and in unknown capacity the more modern planes, something Israel obviously doesn't want. You quoting information about aircraft carriers is completely irrelevant, we are talking air defence here, an area that Russia specializes in.

And i cant make it any simpler for you, they couldnt have contacted the plane before firing?
Shoot first ask questions later right?
Aircraft carriers are offense and defensive...

Syrian ancient air defences was responding in the direction of the attack, they hit the larges object in that direction. Like I said, Russian and Syrian military assets are not integrated, as such there is nothing that distincts that radar mark as a Russian plane, something that is changing now with the delivery of the s-300. In fact I'm sure Russia actually hopes Israel uses the f-35 more now, so they can gain information about it.

So just turn off your defense systems, in case Israel wants to bomb you.......makes sense.
