Rumor inside kickboxing: Daniel Ghiță vs. Badr Hari in 2018

You told us he'd be facing Badr in Glory, not that he'd come back and lose a tournament to some scrubs.

Lol, he only lost to multiple champion of Iran in semi. This is the Wushu World Cup, do you realize? He got a medal, his first fighting in sanda.

So he wasn't able to use his two best tools, left hook and leg kick? Did he lose because of takedowns?

@Shadess broke the news on this, FYI.

He used them but he got pushed out of the ring 3 times. His wrestling is bad.

In the previous fights he looked faster and knocked two guys via left hook and leg kicks, but this Iranian was the en-titre champion and world champion at the last 3 editions, he is with huge experience. Hamid Reza Gholipour, he has no Wikipedia page but you can check. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Wushu_Championships He is five-time world champion, a kind of legend. As good as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muslim_Salikhov, better than another Iranian https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohsen_Mohammadseifi.

Wushu also means a kind of wrestling, sumo and whatever.

If you think that any top kickboxer that goes there is already medalist, you are crazy. World Cup means even in the first rounds there is heavy competition. That guy from Kyrgystan or from where he was, was also very good.

For example, Andrei Stoica was European champion and failed in the quarterfinals, 1:2 in 3 rounds. He was very aggressive and has experience, but fighting also against the Asians and some Arabs, you also need to have that wrestling. And believe he is also former MMA artist, he is better than many other Europeans on this aspect. And Andrei trained under Cătălin Zmărăndescu in wushu first. He can get knocked out, but he is strong like a bear and has very strong chin. Plus he also did some judo.

It"s a sport totally dominated by the Asians. Except for Russia and Egypt, in top 13 there are only Asians.

It"s like the national sport of China. And Iran in this, they are like the greco-roman wrestlers.

So any West and Central European medal is a performance, plus he never fought before in Wushu. Plus he came back after 3 years and a half.

Glory should sign Gholipour. He made ghita look average.

Not really in the striking department though + they have the guy who made him look like an amateur in the final. Well for 1 fight at least.

@ Shadess

The Chinese currently signed for Glory China won the gold medal!

Maybe some of the Wushu fighters would do well in kickboxing, but not many. In kickboxing, you have no wrestling and there is no helmet and protection. So Ghiță would have taken unanimous decision or he would have destroyed him via KO.

But as a wushu fighter, Gholipour has fantastic performances. Gholipour in sanda was multiple world champion, Ghiță made debut.

There are successful sanda men like wei rui and even the guy who won that tournament. I dont think any heavyweight kickboxer has excellent skills so I think they will do well.

If that's the Ghita who's supposedly going to fight Badr Hari next year (if that fight even happens), then I can only predict some bad outcome for him...
