It's been 2 years since the last Openweight GP and this one marks the beginning of annual ROAD Grand Prix. The opening round will happen in Beijing. I assume they decided on Openweight since Aorigele is one of their top stars and they are in need of non-rematch title fights for Mighty Mo. Part 2 2018 Openweight Grand Prix opening round Jerome LeBanner (3-3-1) vs Lahan Wu (5-0, 1-1 moat) Huggy Bear (16-6) vs Alexandru Lungu (16-4) Aorigele (6-3) vs Jae Hoon Kim (0-3) Mighty Mo (12-5, Openweight champion) vs Gilbert Yvel (39-16-1) GP Reserve Bout Handong Kong (3-5) vs Kazuyuki Fujita (15-14) Women's Openweight Bout Gabi Garcia (4-0) vs Veronika Futina (0-0) Part 1 72kg Catchweight Bout Yincang Bao (11-5) vs Rafael Fiziev (5-0) 72kg Catchweight Bout Shinji Sasaki (18-11-3) vs Albert Cheng (8-4) Lightweight Bout Won Bin Ki (6-5) vs Thirayut Khaorat (3-2) 72kg Catchweight Bout Baoshe Riguleng (1-1) vs Bruno Miranda (10-3) Women's Bantamweight Bout Ramona Pascual (3-2) vs Marina Kumagai (0-0)
I don't think Mo will be in it, they didn't book A Sol in the Lightweight tourney so I think winner probably fights Mo. My guess is Huggy Bear is almost certainly one of the Americans
Here's the participants I assuming will be in this OW GP based on their flags.... China: Anding Ma France: Alan Baudot (HEAT LHW champ) China: Aorigele (confirmed) Romania: Alexandru Lungu Korea: Hyun Man Myung USA: Huggy Bear Barnett Australia: Peter Graham USA: Jake Heun
I don't see myung being in the tounry. He was already scheduled to fight mighty mo twice before. Pretty sure he'll fight mo when he's healed up and the winner of the tourny will most likely fight the winner of mo or myung.
Probably Jake heun but he wasn’t allowed in to China the last time they booked him. So not sold on him being there
