Gomi vs Souwer is a good matchup for both guys, should be fireworks.

Yachi vs Kawajiri I think would be a fine matchup, continues the theme of Yachi fighting the old guard of JMMA

Lmao Gomi needs to retire. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Souwer submitted him.

This is one Gomi absolutley has to have. Can't even use past his prime as an excuse.

Also I don’t know why people are bashing Yachi?

The kid is 5-0 in Rizin. Has some good scraps vs Kitaoka and Daren plus his last fight I don’t know why is was split I saw him winning the whole thing. He submitted an older Gomi.

If they crown a champ at 155 he is leading the pack

If you bash Yachi you are a herb, he fights constantly and has had either the most exciting fight or one of the most exciting fights on every RIZIN show hes been on

I can't speak for everyone, but I personally never saw the Pancrase events on Fight Pass. So first time I saw Yachi fight was in Rizin, I'm sure if he was as exciting in Pancrase as he is now in Rizin I'd be a fan then too.

I think it's just leto1776 talking down on Yachi.

    They were utterly forgettable.

    Nice try, but wrong.

And his style and approach have clearly changed since then, he's almost a completely different fighter from even 2 years ago. Expecting everyone to have watched Shooto events that were nearly impossible to find unless you had access to private trackers or did tape trading is silly, his Pancrase fights (which he only had 3 of) weren't amazing but they were just fine. He also had some strong performances in PXC but now they have deleted all of their videos so it's kind of hard to go back and watch those. RIZIN has more attention and has better broadcast options so obviously more people found out about him through his fights there. It's like saying every baseball fan is a noob because they weren't a fan of someone during their minor league career but are now a fan because he's knocking 40+ homers a season in the majors.

He's a completely different fighter now and has been nothing but pure entertainment in all of his rizin fights.

Sakakibara was teasing in a Q&A that he is possibly willing to loan ONE some stars if they actually manage to put together an event in Japan, said he has reached out to them but ONE doesn't seem interested (not surprising, ONE usually only works with smaller SEA promotions where they can sign the best talent exclusively). Mentioned RENA vs Angela Lee and Horiguchi vs Bibi specifically as interesting matchups. Said he's not worried by ONE's recent signing spree of Japanese fighters, doesn't really view ONE as a threat

A fighter becomes more popular thanks to performing on a bigger stage and finishing known names in highlight reel fashion? Such a repulsive thought that I must start hating him and his fans!

  16. So, even though I consider Gomi shot in terms of highest level MMA, I still expect him to beat Andy Souwer.

Gomi has enough smarts left in him to throw and take Andy down at will.

Does this mean Kanna/Rena is the main event?

    I think it should be.

Should be, but they’ll probably end up making Horiguchi or Tenshin the main event. They’re all about metro Tenshin.
