He was really shuting down Hendo's game... gave Dan 2 nasty knockdowns. For 2 rounds, Rua was on top by far...

Great finish by Dan though... very criative and one of the nastiest bombs he ever landed. dayum...

Recommend u guys watching both Hendo Rua fights in sequence... Some of the finest MMA ever :)

    Another was Shogun vs Chuck.

    It broke my heart but...

Seeing his wrestling and transition to cage fighting (instead of Pride rules / ring fighting) fully evolve in this fight was amazing.

Chuck was fave but had give props to Shogun.

Yeah I remember Shogun was killing him in that fight. I thought the fight would be even again but everyone else and the odds makers were clearly picking Shogun like 2 to 1. Hendo beat him twice but I had the first fight a draw. That said I believe Shogun is the better fighter when both of them are in their prime and past their prime.

The 1st fight was an absolute war. Imagine Hendo had actually gotten that sub in the first round, it would've been incredible but then we wouldn't have seen the whole fight. I should really rewatch it

I got so damn mad when Henderson landed that nasty shot tp shoguns nose.
It was a clinic. Maybe shogun got a bit careless then and thats a mistake you cant make against a huge puncher with an iron chin.

It's like saying Sonnen's best fight was when he got triangled in round 5. Doesn't mean shit if you get choked out or knocked out. In real life it means you're dead - so obviously it's not your best fight if you died.

Shogun looked incredible against Hendo in the second fight.. both fighters are in my top 10 favorite, but when Hendo broke out of that clinch and then broke shogun’s nose.. well, I jumped straight out of my chair lol.

To be fair, he came back from worse than that in the first fight. I get what you're saying, though.

The 2nd fight was a war too.
Here's 15 seconds from the opening round.

I still think that was the sharpest looking Shogun we've seen.

Did Rua have Hendo out on the ground for a split second then Hendo came to and recovered.

That's how that crazy series went. It took 8 rounds of back and fourth action for someone to finally end it.

Hendo wasn't "out" but he was definitely hurt. See post #13.

Sonnen's best fight was against Silva. It's a much stronger performance than choking out shogun or pounding on nate and okami for 3 rounds.

Example: Climbing 95% of the way up Mt. Everest is much more impressive than climbing to the top of your neighborhood hill.

Only a simpleton would think the end result is the only way to gauge a performance.

Shogun was too passive when he hurt Hendo. Should have went for the kill. Ended up paying for it.
