There's a big difference between:
A fighter failing a drug test

and

A fighter failing multiple drug tests and getting caught tampering with the scale while spending most of their career forcing smaller fighters to move up in weight to fight them.


Jones and Silva already got enough shit for not facing elite fighters from the division above them. Could you imagine the shit storm if they constantly fought smaller fighters?





This is also ignoring the fact that plenty of people still give Silva and Jones shit for their failed tests. I seem them called roid cheats on this site on the regular.

Also imagine if Silva and Jones fought almost exclusively green prospects and journeymen (with records like 5-1, 6-1-, 6-2, 6-4, 8-6, and 8-7) for the last 7+ years and were still hyped by their fans as GOATs.
