Let’s try to make these realistic choices of people that could have been substituted for the fights in question.
I’ll start by saying I totally get why they went with Anderson Silva to fight DC at 200 and he was the smarter choice. Still, a part of me wishes Bisping got put in, instead. He was the first, or one of the first, fighters to ask for it once Jones had to pull out. He probably would’ve lost decisively to DC, but he was white hot at that time and the MW Champ. Even Dave Meltzer said in discussing that as an option if Bisping somehow beat DC on short notice and became champ it was the kind of thing people would still be taking about 100 years later.
