Remember that 12-year-old Japanese youngster Momo Shimizu, who fought a 24-year-old? She won in R1

no 24 year old would lose to any 12 year old legitimately

Yeah of course. People who pay attention to Karate Dad Yamaguchi fighters were trying to tell everyone scared for MOMO; instead to pray for the 90lbs hostess.

Sara McMann, an Olympic level wrestler, was subbed by a 16 year old. That's pretty close

Someone post the vid if they find it, please. I want to see how much of a work it looks like.

true, that is pretty bad also but at least the body of a 16 year old is much closer to fully formed womanhood. even a weak 24 year old should be able to absolutely bully just about any 12 year old on the planet. the girl certainly didn't look like a 13 y/o mike tyson, she looks like a child

How did that fight even get sanctioned? Or is this an inside joke of some kind that non-Japanese aren't in on?

People saying fixed or work are clueless. A number of these types of fights have been put on under amateur rules, it was clear though to anyone who follows the scene that Momo would win by submission pretty quickly

LOL at accusations of a fix. Yeah, they're gonna fix an amateur bout. Come on, people.

It's a 12 year old against a 24 year old; the accusations of a fix are not far fetched because it would be ludicrous to put on an actual fight where a child could be seriously hurt.

Adolescent vs adolescent MMA bouts that don't include gnp and no strikes to the head are a thing but this bizarre match up is not that. Also, I don't think anyone is implying that the fight was fixed for betting purposes; maybe for future investment star building, but mostly so a child didn't literally get brained in the ring.

Should put her in a helmet and have her crash into other 12 year olds at full sprint. Much safer.

There was no ground and pound, they had headgear, shin guards, and larger gloves

I have watched a number of kids the same age beat adults under the same rule set and it never looks fishy. People should probably look into things before always jumping to "fixed" or "work".

The promoter and her coach aren't dumb, they picked someone they felt she could beat. Her coach is known for debuting youth prodigies to great success (Mizuki and Naoki Inoue, Yukari Yamaguchi), he knows what he is doing.

No way is it legitimate. No 12 year old is stronger than a 24 year old

12 year old vs 28 year old

12 year old vs 41 year old

13 year old (same gym as Momo) vs 32 year old, this is the ruleset the fight this thread is about happened under

Spoiler: The kids all win in legitimate contests
