Hindus do the best raising kids to be their religion.

As a Christian, I agree that many people who claim to be Christian do not meet what I consider the theological standards to be. But to be fair, I think a lot of atheists are fakes too. I've met more than a few who believe in God, but suppress it because they don't want to feel bad for sleeping around, etc.

So if sincerity is a standard, then I'm not sure how it would change the numbers. A lot of people are insincere no matter what they do, say, or believe.

As a secular humanist and atheist I am appalled by this statistic. I thought that as the world gets more civilized and educated, we can do away with primitive religions. Yet it seems secularism bring with it devastatingly low birth rates. Happiness over reproduction. White Europeans are actually disappearing due to negative birth rates. Religious nations and communities continue to have 2.4 children per family. They will inherit the earth.

How can we counter this?

You are going under the assumption that children of religious people will also be religious, and that children of athists will also be atheists.

I don't believe that will hold, and that a greater percentage of people born to religious parents will become atheists than vice versa as time passes.

Then the nuclear holocaust will take place, and people will go back to the stone ages and be religious again.

I am not religious in the least but I'm curious, what makes you so confident that a God does not exist?

According to some religions there are multiple gods. Other religions say there is only one god. That alone proves that SOME of these religions (if not all) are totally wrong.

Edit: back to your question, I'm agnostic and I am open to believing there is a sky fairy out there. But no way in hell (no pun intended) do we silly evolved humanoid apes know what/which god it will be or if there really is one.

I don't even know what message this is supposed to convey. Are you worried they have the "religious gene"?

Perhaps you're worried about the ethnic imbalances being created by the disproportionately religious third-world VS the secular and infertile developed world, which would be more of a logical concern.
