Regarding Greg Hardy: Imagine UFC fighters trying to join the NFL/NBA/soccer... LOL

MMA heavies tend to be older than most professional athletes when they get a shot at the big leagues.

With that said, Konrad and Mocco both got tryouts agter their NCAA careers ended.

It doesn’t look like you actually read the post that you’re replying to haha.

And a game that it is predominately played by running around with a ball in your HANDS deserves the name of football over a game which actually has history, is called football and is played with your feet...right hahahaha.

Handegg and it’s fans seem to be pretty dense.

‘Pansies’? You sound like a cool guy and definitely definitely not insecure <Lmaoo>

No. Nobody gives a shit in the best country on earth, America. So we'll take the word football, and wherever you come from (who cares) can suck it. And yes they are pansies who pretend to be hurt all the time. Go look up soccer dives moron. Gronk would mow down anyone that plays soccer.

Seen guy on Right at the Jersey Shore..

Not the brightest statement as Brock played a month on the practice squad of PRE-SEASON and was cut. There are guys who literally walk up to NFL teams off the street (walk-ons) and get more playing time than the Nationally renowned college wrestler did. Brock (juiced and all) is an amazing athlete with huge size and did outstanding at their Combine (event to determine skills) on the level of JJ Watt, but still had nothing for the NFL.
Not the brightest statement yet you backed it up.... Perhaps don't operate heavy machinery?

Only highlighting your ignorance through actual facts son.

Protip: If your really tryna zing someone you'd do better not using the back of a Nyquil bottle

You can't really compare sports that are 100+ years old vs. a sport (MMA) that is roughly 25 years old. I'm sure there were a lot of people who jumped right into playing football in 1920 without any prior experience and did well

Fun fact in 1936 the first ever drafted NFL player declined to play and pursued a spot at the summer olympics for the decathlon instead.

So many insecure pussies on this site.

Imagine an nfl player trying to play tennis.

Watch the fights and watch the best fighters in the world fight for titles. If you think it’s easy then try it.

You think tennis fans wished the Greg Hardy’s wanted to switch to tennis?

Whining pussies.

Greg hardy is still an mma nobody.

Some people actually pick up football very quick and become successful pros after little time.

There’s hundreds of athletes every year simply not the right size for their position that don’t get to play professional football or basketball. Or skilled (but equally athletic) enough for tennis or baseball or golf. They are free to try mma. If it was easy they should be able to quickly start making millions like the top mma fighters. I’ll wait.

MMA is still a young sport

Give it 100 years like these other sports have had

Soccer, track and field, rugby and wrestling athletes routinely transition to football and play in the NFL. Not that crazy.

Football is weird in that not every position requires freakish athleticism. If an NFL kicker decided to switch to MMA no one would be all that excited. Even Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers would be met with limited expectations. Defensive ends like Hardy, however, are absolute monsters and to reach the higher end as he did, you’ve gotta be a savage athlete.

You still won’t have kids growing up fighting. Most other sports the game you play as a 10 year old is the same you play at 30. Mma will never work that way. They’ll grow up learning different disciplines, sure.

If you were to drop them in to any of those sports right now, they would do infinitely better at any of those sports than the A-Level athletes would do at fighting. Absolute guarantee. And the consequences for performing poorly in MMA are... a touch more severe than the NBA.

Based on Struves awkward movement and never learned to use his size when he fights, I say he would be piss poor at basketball.

NBA scouting report - Struve, Stefan - 7' 0" 275 lbs; good size in the paint, looks deceptively thin but stands his ground well. Decent rebounder when he remembers to get position, otherwise commits needless fouls due to inexperience. On offense, footwork subpar for a European with soccer background, but not terrible for a taller player. Ball handling skills poor, often misreads passes that are unexpected or too low or fast. Poor shooting range limits usefulness in most schemes. Sets picks well on perimeter but tends to move and get called for it. On defense, occasionally blocks shot with intimidation but more often than not is caught flat-footed; easy target for a plus one bump. Very durable physically in general, but issue with heart irregularity limits confidence for a spot on full-year roster. Conclusion: decent but unspectacular back-up potential, useful as enforcer to fill space in the middle, with limited minutes due to propensity to foul (2 flagrants for elbows in 4 game span); advised to hold as reserve or bring up for 10-day contract as needed.
