Red state voters support progressive policies

Expect the moralistic grandstanding and identity based silliness you accuse the Dem of having from preventing the GOP from doing that in the near future. They call it socialist and criticize it for covering too many brown people and a chunk of their base would eat it up. Its more likely the Dems get it through if they get control of both House and Senate.

I don’t know why you say that. Within the past decade the dems controlled the presidency, the house AND had a super majority in the senate and they still didn’t get it done. I’d say, for this to happen, it has to be based on national will. And I have more faith in that than I do the competency of either political party

The Dems had a hard enough time passing Obamacare, something that was already a right wing healthcare proposal, and had to drop single payer. But the fervor for universal healthcare has most certainly increased and its the Dems that are the ones that talk about it more often. If they do pass it I wouldn't be surprised if it was with the help of a few Republicans but I doubt the GOP as a whole will get on board with the idea.

Notice how none of those proposals had anything to do with niche LGBT issues or any other "woke" bullshit. Democrats need to focus on stuff like this and stop constantly chasing the youth vote with stupid "woke" bullshit.

Aren't u a muslim atheist? That's even worse, the two most hated groups.

I'd vote for a guy like you, but never for these hijab wearing females. The contradiction is too strong for me. Islam explicitly says the reason for the Hijab is to avoid males from sinning. It's not a group identification thing, it's not to protect girls etc

He had only 3 popular messages, anti-migration, pro-guns and pro-evangelicals, everything else only attracted the rich.

He was more isolationist/anti-war than the Hilldawg. Not wanting to put a no-fly zone in Syria, not wanting to destabilize regions by overthrowing dictators. Same with his comments on NATO that we were spending too much money to protect Europe. He was also much tougher on trade talking about China's predatory pricing and being against TPP.

People also liked him because he said he wasn't bought/sold like other politicians.

I think those were more popular than his "pro-evangelical" stance, which I don't believe anyone actually believed coming from Trump. This is a guy who was trying to hock his book when talking about his favorite biblical passages.

Trump didn't explain any depth to his policies, and to no surprised renegged on a bunch of them, but he actually talked about interesting topics other politicians just ignored. I was shocked throughout her whole campaign how irrelevant Hillary was to the message. They could have plugged in any other old crotchety white woman, claimed she was a Democrat, and ran the same superficial campaign.

I forgot about the isolationist part. By popular I mean that it had some mass following, not just something elites cared about like tax cuts. Evangelicals are deeply unpopular with some people but they have numbers, Trump put Pence as his vp, that was a very pro-evangelical move.

I think the real question is why would someone identify as a Republican? Their politicians do not support them, or the things they want from their government.
Because they're stuck in a dumb 2 party system with no escape :)

He's not anti war at all, he's pro war establishment conservative. He hasn't pulled us from the current 8 wars or "conflicts" we're in, increased military funding when it's already too huge, wanted to attack Venezuela, and continued sales of arms to evil Saudi Arabia after they bombed a children school bus with our weapons and murdered a journalist. His administration also has done more done strikes than obama, who did a lot.

Excuse me, I prefer Agnostic Muslim. Know the difference!

Is normal, as the Prophet(PBUH) himself said
Never will succeed such a nation as lets their affairs carried out by a woman.

You can't differentiate his campaign from his actions. The war stuff he campaigned on was stomping out ISIS and possibly getting out of the Iran deal. Your list, he was either against or didn't talk about it.

If you'd read my post, you'd see I said he renegged on a bunch of his anti-war/isolationist policy.

I actually agree. I agree with a lot of liberal policies. But I won't vote for someone who hates me and wants to punish me for the color of my skin.

I don't care about getting a slightly more comfortable life if it means a gilded cage.

The left can win my vote back. Drop tue identity politics and the white privilege shit. If they'd rather shit talk me constantly and not get my vote because of it, that's their choice.

Yeah he's a fake populist, who went back on a lot of things he said. The only two presidential hopefuls that would cutback on interventionist actions and wars would have been Bernie and Libertarian Paul.

Yeah right. Every time in power Democrats refuse to address the social inequality they helped orchestrate and that has given rise to Trump in the first place.

The elites, Republican and Democrat, belong to the same club. We are not in it like Gorge Carlin said so your vote matters little and no reason to get worked up about whole charade.

both are fake populists and only care about billionaires. Democrats use identity politics a lot, republicans use the freedom card but they care not one wit about those.
