Alright Sherbros, me and my gf of over a year recently split so I'm back on the market and wanna make improvements to myself, and I'm joining a 24/7 open gym today, but I haven't worked out in a longggg time so I really need to know what are some great workouts to be doing at the gym?

I'm not in bad shape (I'm quite lean since I eat good) and my goal is basically to just have a great lean/cut body?

Any advice from you guys on shit I should/shouldn't be doing at the gym? Since I'm single I really just want to focus on improving myself and my life.

Upper body and lower body at the gym. And surf porn and masturbate before a date - this will help with premature ejaculation.

I would go at 50% the first two times you go to make sure you can move the next day when you wake up.

After that, just alternate your workouts depending on how many days a week you go. If you go 3 days a week, then do chest/triceps one day. Back/shoulder/bicep the next. Then legs/core the next. If you go 4 days a week, split those up a little further and concentrate more on each body part.

It's going to suck for the first couple weeks. The weights are going to feel heavy, pointless and you're going to want to quit. Once you make it past that point, it's going to feel great. I would suggest to lift as heavy as you safely can once you get your routine down. Get more out of your workout in less time.

Go heavy enough to be a.little sore. The first couple years is a blast because you see changes monthly, and sometimes weekly.

You can start off humping all over and doing different stuff, because you just need the muscle memory of lifting. It will all be gold in almost any order. But that changes, and you then want to start separating muscle groups and being more serious about it.

You get a lot stronger the first couple years, and I actually envy people just starting out sometimes. I can never get that excited feeling from fast increases like that again. Enjoy. It makes everything seem better for a while.

I have no idea what chins/rows are lol
chinups, or a variation of a row for your back and biceps. I prefer yates rows, usually do them in a smith machine. One arm dumbell rows are fantastic too. I usually do chinups as an accessory lift on overhead press day, and rows as an accessory on bench press day.

Start slow and easy and gradually progress in volume and intensity. Build up your work and lung capacity. Address any flexibility/mobility issues. Make sure to include the big important lifts (curls in the squat rack, putting teh 275 on the bench even if you can't lift it while doing crunches, leg extensions Cain Velasquez style)

Go check out the strength and conditioning forum. They have a lot of tips.
