I think abroad it would be 145 - 147. He's fought at 70kg before so 145 should be a good weight for him. Glory 145 division keeps growing and looking juicy at the moment. Guys like Petpanomrung, Roosmalen, Fabio Pinca, Dylan Salvador, adamchuk and so on. He still can fight in the stadiums but just want to see how he does.

You still have Kaew Fairtex as the greatest active striker in your description. Do you still believe that? Either way that would be another great match up for him.

Don't know about that, 140 is kind of a rock/paper/scissors type deal. Rittewada has beaten Chujaroen in the past too.

This was a nice performance from Phetmorakot. Especially considering the last time he fought Manasak he had nothing for him.

I base that on his excellence in two different rulesets. In all actuality I should probably have Knockout CP Freshmart in there, but I'm a sucker for the 126-160 weight range.

He could definitely take a win off of any of them, but overall I still think he is a half step behind them. His offensive clinching is not at the same level as the others and it limits his options to shift the momentum in round 4.

But what came after that excellence, was a dwindling career in Thailand. The top 140 Thais would have a better shot at beating Kaew in kickboxing then he would at beating them in muay thai.

I think the first time they fought was at some crazy weight like 149 lbs when Phetmorakot had just fought at 135 not long ago.

In Glory, probably. In K-1 where half second of clinch = point deduction, its certainly not a given.

Well, they won't bounce around while helplessly absorbing a thousand kicks.

Have you seen Kaew's final muay thai fights? All these 5'11 guys would be hell for him in muay thai.

Yeah, but I was thinking of the second fight where Manasak kinda fucked him up. That fight was at 137lbs.

Who cares. Kaew was a good muay thai fighter without being any kind of generational great and is the best of a mediocre talent pool in kickboxing. Same thing goes for Niwlukrak: good muay thai fighter, although not as good as Kaew, without being great and one of the best of a mediocre division in boxing. I'll take true greatness in one sport over decent accomplishments in two any day of the week.

Guys like Veeraphol were genuinely great in two disciplines. That's very rare.

Well yeah, but even supposing he lost a few fights at a higher weight, so what? The question was about finding competitive fights for him. It's not like he isn't losing his share of fights now at 140lb. 148lb is obviously a less competitive division than 140lb, only someone who was totally ignorant or obtuse would deny that.

    Manasak mangled Phetmorakot's nose.

What were Rittewada's latest fight where he got this record 1-1-1?

This win over Nontakit; a loss to Chujaroen when he got rocked with an elbow? A draw with Nontakit? What was the fight when he scored a body punch KO? it's all a blur and I can't pinpoint these fights.

Also I think I read someone mention that Muangthai got KOed in an international fight. can't find the post either. is that right?

Yeah, that's his last 3 fights. I don't remember him winning any fight with body punches, ever.

He lost to Umeno by tko a while ago.
