Recent fights/results/news from Thailand

its not the 8th its the 14th, also got Thanonchai vs Muangthai rematch and poss Pichitchai vs Petchartchai that will no way go the 5 rounds

Damn, Petchartchai doesn't need that fight at all. Will be nuts while it lasts, but the crazy bastard is going out on a stretcher.

I feel like Saengmanee is pretty stubborn with his stlye despite being a such a technical fighter. looks a bit flat if it doesn't go his way.

Will he still fight pakorn?

No

He was actually going to fight Denpanom again with Denpanom not having to lose as much weight. The Uchiyama fight got made and the Denpanom rematch was cancelled.

It's a long shot, but if he beats Uchiyama I'd imagine Muay Thai will be put on hold. Though it would be pretty badass if he still did both.

yeh can't see it working out good for him

october 9 on onesongchai thairath tv show
thanonchai and pakorn

edit i was wrong

Fighting each other, or just on the same show?

Last I remember Pakon was saying he wouldn't fight below 137, or something like that. I'd think he'd have to get down to 132 or so to make that a fair fight.

Yeah where is he

fucked if I know mate :p

actually he was in the latest Isuzu tournament i think, I don't really follow it too much since it went up the weights for Thaifight, not sure if he's still in it or not

Would be dope if yomthong wins, but I honestly want him to stick with Muay thai or focusing on K-1...

by the picture i figured they were fighting each other but it makes more sense if if is just on the same show

I read he's supposed to face Yodkunphon in the semi-finals...

They are on Thairath t.v on the 9th which is a Friday night, on a talk/variety show, not fighting!

Yodkhunpon looked pretty good in his last 2 isuzu fights.

I watched some old Channel 7 fights and his father, Chartchainoi was almost just as crazy lol, had some battles with the likes of Samson Issan etc...

It remains to be seen if that will work against more skilled opponents

How much will he make with this fight? Probably at least 10 times a muay thai fight?

Another Toyota marathon today at 14:00 Thai time on channel 7 higher weight this time with Petmorakot Wor Sangprapai, 3 other Thais and 4 foreigners

Boxing world championships start next month and Superbank is in it!

He'll probably get 25% of the purse.

I'm not sure at all, but based of what I've read about Japanese purse bids I'd say this could be a $300,000 fight, maybe more. Even if it is a 200K fight that is 50K to Jomthong and his stadium purse is around 3K.

Damn, I forgot the one stream that would work for me is now charging. Knew I shouldn't have stayed up.

wow, nice for him.

The Isuzu tournament has been garbage. Everyone is just a blown up lightweight. Yodkhunpon's path has especially been pathetic as all 3 of his opponents looked scared and didn't really do anything. Diesellek isn't the fighter he was a few years ago, but at least he doesn't fight scared, and he should beat Yodkhunpon. Its down to 4 now? One of them is Por Tor Tor Petruangrung, and the other may be Mongkolchai Petsuapan.

Jomthong vs Takashi Uchiyama on May 6th for the WBA super featherweight title.

Uchiyama is the consensus best fighter of the division.

Jomthong Deserve it,i hope he won,his boxing skills are excellent and he can do it.

I am happy for him,i watched some fights of Takashi Uchiyama and he is a beast, fast as hell,i hope Jomthong took him.

if he win or not, only the purse to fight for a world WBA title,he is going to receive more money than fighting almost 10 times on stadiums only fighting.

If he win,he can receive 200-400k dollars i guess

Jomthong already have some good boxing expecience,he is Asian boxing champion on 130lbs and defeat some good boxing fighters like Yuya Sugizaki and Daiki Kaneko.

Event has been going on for hours already but the broadcast starts in 7 minutes I think.

It looked like Kongsak had been training at Sitsongpeenong for his next fight in France. If so he would make a great sparring partner for Sittichai's upcoming fight against Yodsanklai.

Also, is kongsak retired?

Fought just a few days ago against Tuanpae. He won by TKO after Tuanpae suffered what looks like a serious arm injury. Only saw a photo, so not sure if it was from kicks or something else.

Has there been any succesful sitmonchai fighter that is retired now? apart from pornsanae

I still have faith in Yodkhunpon. I'm glad he came back and started off with some easier opponents. It will build up his confidence. He has so much potential but he lacked discipline from what I remember. Not sure if that's changed.

He's aggressive, explosive and powerful but not sure how things will go up against a solid competitor. He needs to work more on controlled aggression rather then wild aggression. Same goes for a lot of the Sitmonchai fighters tbh.

I was disappointed in his Glory appearance. Not just because he lost but he couldn't even make weight on both occasions but yet at the time he had moved up for the first time ever to fight at 145lbs.

Diesellek is another one that I feel is wasting his potential. I fell in love with this guy when I first saw him knock out F16. He was crazy sharp and explosive but not sure if his heart is really in it anymore. Hasn't looked as good in recent fights.

New generation muay thai king in action right now.
Defeater of such fighters as K-1's Andy Souwer!

Sittichai being built up as a new Buakaw :)

At this point Yodkhunpon doesn't have the ability to be anything much in kick fighting. He had his time, but now his power can't consistently carry him over credible opponents. He has no plan B, and that's why he fights the way he does to begin with. I think it would be smart to start a transition to MMA. He could eventually make more money and interesting fights. It's certainly possible he could become a stand and bang idol.

Buakaw... somethingsomething...Buakaw... somethingsomething...Buakaw... somethingsomething...Buakaw... somethingsomething...Buakaw.

They do like mentioning him during Sittichai's fight a whole lot.

Didn't Mongkolchai Petsupaphan descend from top competition after that no contest with Nong-O? What was up with that, always wondered.

damn i think it might be a little early. He really has not been tested and could have used a little more seasoning but i guess you have to take the big fights when you can get them

they made a big deal out of him at the opening of the live show apparently

but he doesn't have good footwork

Sittichai, Yod and Buakaw at a Chinese fight event in Thailand. So far all broadcast matches kickboxing rules not MT.

He was just there to shoot the promo pics for the Best of Siam fight in paris. He hasn't been training there and to the other persons question about him being retired he won buy 3rd round tko on a special ch7 mid week show up in the north east this week

Wasn't a no contest. Ref stopped it because it was one-sided. Mongkolchai has always had the ability, but I think the knock on him is his heart. He's had some cancelled fights against solid fighters (Detnarong, Yodtuantong IIRC) since the Nong-O fight, but that certainly didn't help his reputation. I don't think he's been in with someone of that quality since.
