Reasons why Aldo is truly the GOAT fighter ever in the UFC

After a decade of being the champ and then rushing in against a counter specialist on emotion, that loss hardly defines his career.
Certainly a telling sign of where he stands in the grand scheme of things.

THE GOAT is someone who got KTFO by the two best fighters he faced in his career?

Would Ali be the HW GOAT if he got KTFO by Frazier and Foreman?
To say max Holloway is better than Frankie is absolutely fucking idiotic, and so is what your saying? He’s not in his prime anymore and he finally loses to two of the best fighters ever that our In their prime and he sucks? Sorry that’s not how it works. Tkz, mendes, cub, faber, gtfo bro you’re argument doesn’t hold weight in the real world. Go back to your basement and shave your neck

rushing in against a counter specialist on emotion

My god. He threw a fairly simple lunging hook and got countered bad. You could probably find a hundred examples of him doing the same against other fighters. RDA does it constantly. It's like saying "Anthony Pettis was so emotional he even jumped off the cage". Aldo is an amazing fighter. He's in this thread as a discussion as the greatest fighter of all time. Those fighters DON'T "rush in emotionally". He got clipped by a great shot. Nothing to do with emotions.

I used to have Aldo 5th. Now Mighty Mouse has overtaken him for me. I don't really count PEDs because anyone anytime could have been on them.

1. Jon Jones
2. Anderson Silva
3. Georges St Pierre
4. Demetrious Johnson
5. Fedor Emelianenko
5. Jose Aldo

Except that it does.. And him crying in the locker room after, as well.

Conor played on his Brazilian machismo, had Aldo fighting with anger like he never had before. No feeling out and judging distance, he went in and intended to end the fight on that first punch. Conor knew what he was doing with the mind games, it's a great strategy for his counter heavy style. If you don't think that was the most emotional Aldo we have ever seen, I don't know what to tell you.

Learn the proper usage of 'you're' and leave the attempts at insults to those with functional brains. Max Holloway is a very well rounded phenom who has a winning streak more impressive than any of Edgar's, who's 0-2 against the guy who Max just made mince meat out of. You're out of bounds, fanboy.

Lol, no he didn't leave because of more money, heas booted out after losing 3 in a row in the UFC to Maurice Smith, Pete Smith and Rizzo.

And Randleman is a 17/16 fighter who didn't have great success in the UFC either.

Name me 1 big name Semmy has on his record??

Please your talking about an era of 1 dimensional fighters. Praising Fedor for beating them is like praising Matt Hughes for beating Royce Gracie.

Yes he left for money...He talks about it in the Smashing Machine. UFC was close to folding at that time because they lost PPV.
As far as Semmy...has wins over Mezger,Kondo, Funaki, and former UFC champ Pete Williams

And besides that...I'm not praising them as his greatest wins....it was in reference to your stupid comment comparing timelines between him and Silva. Everything progresses. In his reign, Fedor was better than any other HW out there, and he was fighting in the org with the best heavies. During Anderson's reign...he was the best MW. But you tried to downplay Fedor by comparing direct dates with Anderson, instead of comparing accomplishments based on level of competition. They were at their peaks at different yrs.

So if you want to debate who was better, at least use logical criteria and reasoning.

GOAT TDD
Vicious kicks
Best FW resume of all time

Dude is a legend

Jose Aldo is the GOAT because he is the the only GOAT candidate:

1. To have won a fight during the USADA era.

And

2. Not get popped for PEDs.

He's also tied for 3rd all time with 9 title defenses in arguably the most stacked and well rounded division (FW) in MMA history.

Aldo has the best resume of all time and has the best 2 wins of all time in Frankie 2X. Frankie Edgar is a top 10 GOAT and one of the most consistent and well rounded fighters ever and Aldo dominated him 2X.

Jose Aldo is the GOAT.

Simply fighting under USADA and not failing a test is irrelevant, it's about how you perform. All of Aldo's accomplishments minus his 2nd win over Frankie were pre-USADA. He hasn't come close to repeating his achievements since they showed up and arguably looks like a diminished fighter despite being a young, very athletic individual. Guys like DJ and Conor have continued building their resumes under USADA.

So is everything judged post USADA now? That'd be funny because all the greats would be deleted from this discussion.

Being realistic he's definitely in the top 5 and you could make a case for Aldo. I personally have him in the top 3 somewhere.

Dude is one of the worst guys to ever hold a belt. He disgraced it by barely ever defending it, and tried to duck almost everyone he had to fight other than Lamas who he is somehow fighting again. Holloway already has a more impressive resume of wins and he didn't in like a quarter of the time that Aldo held the entire belt, that's how pathetic Aldo is.

TS has got to be one of the weakest snowflakes ever for this attempt. <36>

Aldo ducked fighters? you stupid dude.

"Brazilian machismo". Jesus christ. What next? He played on Eddie Alvarez' "American ego"?

Yeah, Aldo loves ago slow burning feeling out process.

If throwing a hook 11 seconds into the fight is emotional, throwing a flying knee 3 seconds in is The Notebook

I actually am a huge Fedor fan, and consider him the GOAT HW, but his *10* year reign was filled with undeserving title contenders, from Fujita, to HMC, to Randleman, to Coleman x2, and the list goes on.

Unlike GSP and Anderson Silva, Fedor was not fighting the best every time, and he dominated an era with a lot of 1 and 2 dimensional fighters in a sport that was still young.

He also has never beat a wrestler that can grapple, the only wrestlers he ever beat were as 1 dimensional as they come.

And he has shown mediocre TDD a bad bottom game in today's standards where everyone knows how to defend an armbar.

Never thought I’d see “The Notebook” mentioned on Sherdog :)

At 32 years old GSP and Andy we're still dominate champions.

At 32 years old Fedor was getting submitted by Werdum, having his head bounced off the mat by Big Foot, and getting KO'd by MW's
fedor took 10 years on abuse, he his a ww who was fighting super hw

GOAT, my ass. Featherweight GOAT? Maybe. He certainly has the best resume of anyone in history at that weight (although Holloway will arguably surpass him if he bests Edgar), but he isn't the greatest P4P fighter in UFC history.
