I want to buy myself a belly pad for the home-gym to add another dimension in padwork, but I still have some questions about what to get...
Since I live in europe it's sometimes a bit harder or more expensive to find certain gear.
Although I want to incorporate teeps and knees, the main focus will be for delivering hooks to the liver, straights to the solar plexus and stuff like that...
Should I get a vest or is a belly pad just fine for that?

The options I had in mind are:

And since I know a couple of you guys are raving about Boon, I'm thinking about ordering one from thailand...

I've read that the velcro is quite durable on Boon, me and my friend are switching turns hitting pads... Should I give up a bit of the durability of a buckle for the convenience of the velcro?

Also, I can't find the difference between the full leather bpb1 or joined leather bpb2? I think bpb1 lasts a bit longer because it's one piece of leather and maybe bpb2 has a bit more sidepadding?

Talking about sidepadding... I've noticed that the belly pads from Boon don't reach as far back as some others pads and don't have extra side reinforcements... Can you deliver powerful hooks to the body on them? I know the thai's mainly use it for teeps and knees, but I really want to incorporate body punches too.
I've noticed on the youtube channel from boonsport that they have a belly pad with extra side reinforcements, but I can't find them anywhere, not even on their official website...

And last, but not least: sizing
I'm 178 cm ( 5'10 ), 77 kg (170 lbs), my friend is only a bit smaller but around 63 kg (140 lbs)
Should I buy Medium or Large?

Recap:
Vest or belly pad?
Buckle or velcro?
Full leather or joined leather?
Medium or Large?

Sorry for the long thread and thanks in advance for the replies...

I had a Ringside vest pad and it was awesome. But a bit long when switching with partner because we needed to adjust the straps.

Now I have a Combat sports belly bad with Velcro belt and I like it more that way.

I don't care for leather or synthetic.

So I would go with belly pad with Velcro strap.
