They cherry picked the best indy talent, put them in front of a larger audience, let audiences world wide know who they were which got them over enough to put them on the main roster. Now theres no really great indy talent left so this is what you got.

In their defense, if you can call it that, the methodology they have for teaching won't work. Imagine if actors walked onto an acting job without practicing acting. You can't learn your character and lines while working out the basic concept of what acting is and what is the rationale for the performance. That's fundamentally flawed, it's why Reigns is perma-unpopular and why Ambrose seems immune.

Think of Brando's acting in On The Waterfront's big Condenda scene. He worked out how the character feels so well he knew the script was wrong and basically birthed classic status single-handily. Everything in the movie: the script, direction, plot, theme, even the set dressing (a cab with Venetian blinds) was awful.

Imagine him not having a couple of years slaving through some BS while giving crummy performances. He needed some unexposed time to get himself there.

McIntyre would be up there but he wrestles too much like a babyface, when a man who looks and had the move set of a brute should just be wrecking people.

Ruby Riot is good but the women's division isn't the same without Asuka.

I still really like NXT. Even if many of their main players are gone, the rest still have buckets of personality and wrestling skill.

Haven't seen Itami for a while. Has he thrown in the towel?

In my 01 viewing finished wm 17 and up to pre backlash smackdown. Wm 17 wwe finest hour wirh rock/austin, tlc 2, hhh/taker best matches of an overall amazing card. Post wm 17 is wwe transition to heel stone cold and post rock his return pre summerslam.

As the post wm 17 raw saw the 2 man power trip form and then fued with the hardyz. The initial week and bit it look like Hardys/two man power trip were heading to ppv with the jeff Hardy upset of hhh for the ic title, the infamous beatdown of hardyz/lita by hhh/austin. Instead it lead to kane/taker 2 weeks from backlash.

X Factor and rhyno are getting midcard build, meanwhile right to censor decline to the point of losing to kaeintai clean so rtc is at its end. Creatively, wwe feels like holding pattern post wm 17 relying on kane/taker vs Austin which is played out regardless of face/heel alignment.
