If someone in Sweden was kidnapped and raped for every day for a week and then let go then that counts as 7 rape incidents instead of one. And a woman is probably more likely to be raped in Springfield, IL than in Stockholm.

It's still practiced widely by conservative communities in the United States and was recently defended by evangelicals supporting Roy Moore. Chris Christie refused to outlaw child marriage in New Jersey because it would conflict with Christian beliefs.

Liberals pushing to protect children is the sole reason the practice has fallen out of popularity like it has over the past 100 years.

I also took a report where a woman was the center of a gang bang. She was willing and was even the aggressor. While she was sucking one guy off, another was plugging away. When he finished, another would step in. This went on for some time until she took a break from chugging penis to see that someone had penetrated her that she did not like and she came in to file rape charges the next day. At least she did not shower and had her clothes, but she had the dna of half the city on her and the rape kits took up a city block. If I recall, the guy was black, which is where the problem came in. But I could not help thinking that this woman, who had sexual with over a dozen men, would say she was raped. She did not tell the guy “no” but she said she did not give him permission and she was “drying up” yet she had about three more after that guy. This case was a lot of wasted resources and news story.

When I was growing up rape use to be a big deal, got people very upset.

Today not so much.

It's even going in the opposite of direction. When I was young some one who raped child was brought up on child rape. And called a child rapist.

Over the years liberals thought that child rapist sounded too harsh, it got people and the jury too angry. Which lead to long sentences.

So they came up with the term molester or pedophile which sounded more scientific and less evil.

To me, child molester sounds worse than a child rapist - it sounds more monstrous, and I can't think of anyone on a jury thinking, 'oh he's just a friendly paedophile, that sounds lovely, i'll give him a lesser sentence'.

But then, i'm not the one turning rape into a race/immigration issue, and ignoring the stats on where and how rapes happen. That seems much more minimising the problem of rape to me.

Costs to do a rape kit are whatever the hospital charges to do a kit. The kits are simple with dna swabs and a doctor check up. So theoretically, the emergency room visit could be expensive to an insurance company unless the hospital was pro bono, but I don’t think that occurs. To the best of my knowledge, the police Department does not pay for the hospital visit, but the county may get the bill-I don’t know.

TLDR: there are 400 000 untested rape kits Across America and, in one Michigan county alone, a prosecutor who forced the testing of 11 341 rape kits discovered 817 serial rapists. On average, a rapist will rape 7 to 11 times before they're caught -- they found 50 suspects who raped over 15 victims. But the problem isn't necessarily funding, it's the way rape victims are perceived by investigators.

In my research i did see a case where a woman was chased by a debt agency because they were chasing her bill for a rape kit.
As a result some declaration was made that no woman pays thus i would assume the state covers it somehow.
I did assume the kit itself would be like $100 max, but in an American hospital it could cost pfft who could even guess.
