I believe that's actually an intro made for the US PPV, albeit mixing in bits of the "streetfighter" anime intro from Fuji TV in Japan.

This is an intro...



Honestly though I can see why the UFC doesn't follow this, I think if you go this route you need to go BIG to make it work, Pride spent a lot of money and had Fuji TV working for them. The old UFC pro wrestling style intro's to me always looked cheap, better to just keep things basic than do that.

yeah, it was. sucks we never got the rematch in late 2006-early 2007 cuz CC got hurt. Hunt was a good replacement but the fight just wasn't as intriguing
